[SPOILERS] yuris125 trying to find three weaknesses

Copper

Looks like copper is in safe backline, whereas horse might be exposed

To the south is a massive jungle. I will probably want IW relatively early - will have to seriously think when to fit it, to avoid the Pitboss 80 situation, where I finalised the dotmap without knowing where iron was, and orphaned the best source

Finally, we played 6 turns so far today, and the night is still young. Can we make it a 10 turns day?

Looks like everyone else went worker (or settler?) first, I'm the only one with city growth. But I do think it is justified when I have gold I want to work

I'm thinking chop / single whip a worker at size 3 after improving both foods, then build a settler at 4, and aim to work the gold at all times as soon as it's improved. 2nd city could go SW of the pig for 2 food resources / shared cottages with the capital / horse in the 2nd ring, hopefully I get a religion spread for border expansion

For backline cities I'm hesitating between E or SE of the corn. The latter gets copper in the first ring and doesn't waste a grassland tile, but instead loses the hill on the norhtern cape. There's some merit on settling N of the corn, but that's a lot of water tiles, which I don't particularly want to work (unless I go for Colossus again? How unexpected of me to think such thoughts). Still waiting to uncover more land in the east, but can't hesitate on copper city location for too long

Why not settle 2N of the start tile? Plains hill, gold, double corn, and lighthousable lake for 1t move looked good to me.

I didn't like having to wait 5 turns for border pop until I could start improving the food. If I saw a seafood I would've moved there (that's why I moved the scout north on T0), but with nothing but empty ocean it didn't look good to me

Thinking this for early dotmap. Hopefully there's more food around the horses

In CtH jungle won't spread to the rice, right?
Reply

I thought even in base forest/jungle don't spread to resources?

I think I remember jungle growing on rice in base game. But I see CtH changelog mentions "jungle doesn't grow on resources), so should be fine

Played one more turn, maybe have to wait for more as others may be doing Thanksgiving things. Sadly doesn't look like there's more food around horses. I can still keep the dotmap as is and settle E or SE of the horses, but hoped for something better

Met Cornflakes to my south. Don't know if I should be happy or worried. The big problem is that I don't understand his gameplan from his leader/civ pick. But he does have an early UU

That said, there's a lot of jungle between us, which will hopefully make aggression against me trickier

Finally found a second food source near the horse, problem is it's a hill sheep. As food source go, it's not the most powerful

Found some flood plains to the west. So I think something like this works (still need to see if there's food in the NW)

Didn't actually need a whip to finish the second worker, just a chop

Thinking the copper as the second city for safety, then pig/rice and sheep/horse in some order

Remind me please, flatland cities do spread irrigation, right? So the corn will be irrigated from the lake after Civil Service? Or do I need a farm on the tile I chopped?
