Okay, he's not a classical composer who's stood the test of time yet, but I'm okay with his name given how much I've enjoyed his work.

Steady drumbeat of this. Going to get a Heroic Epic pretty fast here, need a hammer spot to actually use it.
Cornflakes is HUGE already. LOOK AT THIS CAPITAL CITY:
No wonder he's top right now.

I like this one. Forests are for the MoM.

This game is going at an insane pace. I'm scouting Yuri now, he seems to be doing pretty decent (non-Cornflakes category).
I'm also scouting more of my backline, it's VAST...and only barely worth settling. This secret backline does have some marginal potential, but there's a LONG timeline on being able to using it.
Pumping out another scout to pop the two or more huts back here. Shocked by the size of this backline tundra.

I've not had any problem with barbarian axes/spears, but the warriors and archers...
...this is ridiculous. 97% and 94% losses.
Explored Scooter and Yuri's trade connections just in time for Currency to come online.
Now I'm Calendaring, then Code of Laws and Machinery bulb before making my way to knights.

One reason to settle it is so it doesn't keep spawning barbs at you...

that fish-cow-spot is nice, you just need an army to escort a settler
that barb 4*-shock-archer is op...

My first event. And...no, I don't need the happy, but I cannot risk losing that much population in all my cities.

that barb 4*-shock-archer is op... I basically will have to treat this area as islands. There are two decent spots thus far, but it's going to take crossbow(s) to launch an expedition out here.
My win condition in this game is not the win condition I was expecting, but it's hard to refute...I will be the top dog if I can settle even half of this vast jungle:
That dye/sugar is my next near-term goal location.

I feel like the Hallelujah Chorus unfairly gets all the press in the Messiah. Have you ever done a Messiah singalong? He Shall Purify slaps.
I had some annoyance clearing this out. Lost a 90% shot, then another 87% shot in the south, annoying turn.
My peaceful feelings to the north are a little bit lessened, Scooter's landed HBR. Crossbows cannot come soon enough.

This "corner" being desired by both Scooter and Cornflakes is nice, I'm sure they both see each other as the primary rival to win. Scooter, being Creative with 9 cities, is going to land the library quest any minute now, although he might want to delay long enough for the Great Library.
