[spoilers]The Courts of Chaos: Thoth disrupts the Pattern

Extra happiness from the Entertainment Wonder resources and extra happy from culture slider if I wind up needing to run it. I'm happy constrained and I'm going to lose another 2 happy per city when I tech Plastics and obsolete Furs.

Finished up Rock and Roll and the Spiral Minaret this turn.

Refrigeration done, Superconductors up next. Apollo due in 4-5 turns once Aluminum is hooked up. I only have one source of Aluminum and it's on a Forest Preserved tile in my National Park so I've got it sitting with 1 worker turn left on a Fort ready to hook up the resource.

Kolvir is finally happy after losing Whales and Ivory some turns ago thanks to the happy wonders, an Islamic temple, and a renegotiation of happy trade with Krill, changing a swap of my sole source of Incense for Silk from Krill into a Hit Musical + Fish for Silk.

Finished up the Fort on the Aluminum this turn.

Which means 4 turns to Apollo:

Pre-end of turn demos are looking decent:

Ending turn got me the event that gives +5 commerce to a Mass Transit in Kolvir.

Looking decent  smile

And the post end of turn demos:

In the meantime, I 'm learning a bunch about modern era warfare.  Holding my own in the air war so far (I've killed 5 Commodorian Fighters for a loss of 3 of my own in the last two turns and killed a pair of paratroopers for 0 casualties on my part this turn as well).  Good times.  smile

I also made an extra 90 gold at end of turn from overflow in my Heroic Epic city leaving me with 560 gold on hand after ending turn. Time to upgrade some crap. smile

The one downside to running mass uber-specialists: Golden Ages are relatively weak. Popped my 3 man GA this turn and went from 3400ish to 3900ish beakers and from 2750 to 3100 hammers per turn. Satellites is still a 3 turn tech. frown But Advanced Flight will be max 2 turns and I'm looking forward to Jet Fighters. wink

I also don't have any interest in swapping civics for the rest of the game. My current civics are either boosting specialists (Rep, Emancipation, Environmentalism) or boosting my military builds (Vassalage, Theocracy). And I'm not planning on doing much other than running mass specialists and building a lot of military (and a spaceship.....).

Looks like around 25-30 turns to Fusion Power so I don't think I'm going to settle the 4 craphole cities I could stuff into the northern island. With food from corporation, extra hammers from corporation, cheap Expansive Markets and Grocers, and uber specialists the cities would pay for themselves eventually. But they do have high startup costs in terms of gold and hammers. Each would cost 340 hammers in settler, executives, and missionary plus any garrison. So for 4 cities I could build 10 infantry instead and fund 560 gold worth of other unit upgrades instead (not including the extra 30 gpt or so per city in net upkeep costs). Eventually the new cities would pay back both the beaker and hammer investment but right now I could use the extra units and cashflow.
