I am curious that neither Thoth nor Commodore went for nukes earlier. I guess maybe its how big the map is? I've been wanting to ask about this for a while.

And ya with two players having almost identical timing on their finishes it seems super odd that Krill is taking a side. He is currently trying to slow down Commodore, but has posted 0 plans for how he would stop Thoth like 2 turns later. That being said I think it may be more of "I want to do something so I will justify doing something". Just sitting around waiting for someone else to win isn't appealing.

Yeah, Krill's justification for 'I could be relevant if Thoth and Comm kill each other rather than trying to win' has been unconvincing and isn't really anything other than a self-serving rationalization to do something to avoid in-game boredom.

I think Krill knows it. Krill's logic seems to be making some kind of claim for second place. If Krill and Thoth together can nuke Commodore and delay his culture victory past when Krill's ship would arrive, Krill thinks that constitutes second place. I guess there's something to that line of thinking, maximize your possible position by some definition even if you aren't in line to win.

There's been a lot of attempts to squint and find a justification in this thread, but there's really no excuse for Krill still being at war here. This is pretty much the definition of kingmaking, full stop. It's probably the most blatant one I can remember?

With all the talk of nukes, weren't they nerfed in RtR? Like unable to kill units? Or is it just about the infra to delay culture? And does Comm have shelters?
