PB83: Pindicator doesn't know what time zone he's in

Seemed the nice way to say that I'm still jet lagged all to hell.

Yesterday I thought I just needed to power through the day, no naps, and then I could crash around 8. Got deliriously tired during the day and then around 7 I could feel my second wind coming on. Went to bed at 10, woke up at midnight.

Didn't work. Any suggestions?

Oh, this is a civ game?

like in medieval times... go to bed early, wake up in the night and do some work/civ, get a second round of sleep later wink

One school of thought goes that that's evolutionarily selected behavior. The act of reproduction is the obvious thing to do when you have two sleep periods and awake for a while between...

Well I've gotten my sleep schedule to a groggy 2am-10am. Figure I'll try to shift that earlier and earlier as I go.

No reproduction time slots accounted for, might need to go back to the drawing board there

I'm finally getting back on track for sleep schedule. I think this has been compounded by me getting sick on the flight home (thank you airplane neighbor for coughing on me during the 12 hour flight from HK to SF). I finally did the smart thing and took some NyQuil and just endured a groggy 48 hours which helped both problems out immensely. Sleep deprivation really makes you stupid; I should have done that as soon as I got home.

Anyway- pictures. To be done, later today preferably. Need to pick and choose a few and not bombard you all with the several hundred that I took. I'll probably put them up in the PB80 thread too, since Krill did ask for them and it would be mean to put them somewhere he couldn't see for another 6 months.

As for this game, we have a starting save:

NW of the corn looks like a very obvious capital, though it would be lacking in production: only 1 hill and the horse. And then likely a coastal city SE of the cow or to the east of that tile. It seems we are financial. Hmm, maybe we should be told what we are rather than sussing it out.

Ya NW of the central corn and then SW of the other corn. I'm hoping for some seafood down south there so want to leave room open for that. In any case both very strong cities. In advanced start do you get to place your starting scout / any bought settlers? I vaguely remember settlers and cities costing the same in advanced start (unless Imp) so 2nd city maybe buy settler instead of city and then place scout over there if you can to avoid stranding sea food).

I've never played RtR so mod stuff you are on your own. Also, as indicated never done advanced start.

We're Hannibal (FIN/CHA) of Portugal. So do we want the coastal spot to be our capital?

You made me read just a little of the RtR change log; how dare you. I can't see why it would matter except WAY down the line for UB. The capital border pop for horse / rice (and cow if we end up SW of other corn), seems way more important.

Seems like a good leader overall. Given that we are on Totestra (right?) Portugal isn't a bad although my understanding from PB80 is caravels could already carry 1 so not as big of a deal. I haven't tried refs version but seems like Totestra sometimes has isolated big islands. Even if not, game will go long so UB will probably be good for once.

Well that worked out better than expected:

Mandatory to place is 1 worker, 1 archer, and 1 scout.  That leaves 120 points left.  Likely just 2 more workers, unless you want to look at work boat scenarios.
