Did you put the mod in the “Program Files/…/Beyond The Sword/mods” folder? (Not “My Games/Beyond the Sword/mods”)

Did you accidentally unzip the file with two layers of RtR_6.1.0.5 folders? Go to your mods folder and open the RtR_6.1.0.5 folder and see if it has the mods assets … or if there is just another RtR_6.1.0.5 folder nested inside the first.

It's installed in the right folder.  smile

And Civ is telling me I'm running 6.1.0.5

The only recent change has been me messing about with the Ashes From Erebus modmod which somehow managed to reset all of my ingame settings back to default.   But I don't see how this would affect a completely different mod.  noidea

Looks like your version is missing a couple .ini files for some reason. I zipped my mod folder into a OneDrive link, try using this: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aj_yqOpUOS6HhYsJdRfq...g?e=ZHFR4m

Nope. frown

Deleted current folders and installed from your link. Same error message when I try to join the game.

Are you using the wrapper and starting from a shortcut, or loading the mod once inside Civ?

I've tried both from shortcut and from starting civ and loading the mod.......I have no clue what is going on.

So on the assumption that something has gone fubared with my regular Civ 4 install, I fired up my Steam copy for the 1st time to see if I could log in that way.

And it turns out that the Steam version doesn't support Pitboss? There is no option for Direct IP connection under the multiplayer menu. WTF?

When you unzip, do you use the right click > extract method? Or you double click to open the zip folder and copy/paste out? It is rare, but I have had an issue in the past where copy/pasting corrupted a file, but using the right click > extract method worked (not with a mod, but with another zip file)

Can you zip the RtR_6.1.0.5 folder from your mods folder and upload it back to me? To see if something somehow got lost between downloading and unzipping?

For the Steam version, you have open your Steam library and opt in to the beta (something like ORIGINAL RELEASE UNSUPPORTED). Then you have to update the game through Steam if it doesn’t automatically start downloading the beta.

I play through a Steam install, but launch through the wrapper via a shortcut.

I just launched via Steam and I confirm there is no option for Direct IP in the Multiplayer menu. I guess this is a result of removal of the official servers, and is part of what the wrapper addresses. You will probably need to install the wrapper over the Steam install and run the shortcut.

Got Steam Civ 4 reverted back to full functionality.

And it looked in my regular Civ install directory for the mod list when I loaded RtR.

And the host still doesn't recognize it.

Fuck.  angry
