[SPOILERS] The Reverend Suryavarman II of Babylon

If one pops out of the city let's roll the dice and leave the warrior fortified. Eventually he and the first archer will switch places.

If two warriors happen to come at us.... retreat!

Due to my computer's extremely exclusive tastes (it's ****), save was played courtesy of Sareln (thankyou).

Turn played courtesy of Selrahc (thankyou too).
Nothing happening!

Oh...except for a Barbarian galley appearing off the coast and unloading 2 Shock axemen apparently.

But nothing important really.

3280 BC is in the books and here's how things are looking...

Note the skills involved putting the date up there. lol Surely you'll be amazed when you see my GIMPed dotmapping.

Posted solely because I'm one in soldier count right now, surely based on having teched archery.

I didn't grab a picture of it but the world now has a size 2 city, which means everybody went worker first.

My own worker just moved onto the furs to begin building a camp next turn. My city also hits size two a turn from now.

With the bowman just a few turns away I'm going to have to resist all the urges I'm having to run him over to the barb city unaided! His odds will only be about 75% and if I were to lose him without someone there to clean up it'd be a major setback. Much better to attack with 2 and maybe even my warrior.

See, isn't this setup thrilling?

3040 BC has come and gone.

The barbs are getting a little frisky in the west.

Yes I told PB a few turns ago I'd leave the warrior fortified if they came, but with my first bowman hot off the assembly line, I'm going to play it safer and switch the warrior and bowman's positions. Let's see if the barb warrior will step to that!

I'm pretty happy at least one barb warrior is wandering around the city... a little less fortification bonus when I get my bowmen over there. Maybe I can even pick one off outside the city.

Inside VII. Switched to the camped furs because I grew in a turn regardless. Added some commerce now fishing is due in 3. Note that borders will pop in one turn.

And this is what they reveal after I hit enter!

A hut! Sort of forgot we left those on. And some incense, meh.

A picture of where things stand currently.

Great news! A barb warrior exited the city when my bowman was 2E of the city. Had about 99% odds... won with 1.8/3.0 health remaining.

So what's left? One warrior in the city with full fortify bonus. I can attack with the second bowman, a full strength warrior, and a slightly weakened bowman in 3 turns. The city very may well add another warrior but it won't have much fortify bonus.

Worker finished the pasture on the sheep, which I'm now working instead of the oasis. He's going to start roading to the barb city. First workboat will probably be a scout. Don't need the clam food at the capital yet.

Sailing is due in 6. Don't know if that's necessary before mining/BW but I'm going for it.

The barb city is mine!!

A second warrior did appear, and things were pretty dicey when my first bowman lost at 78%. Luckily my second (slightly injured) bowman and warrior both won their ~65% battles.

This battle was so small but totally nerve-racking! The PBEM format basically means I would have to live with failures for many months. I like the importance this places on trying to play the game well.
