What can I say? I roll disgusting starts (for AIs too apparently) and my turns seem to always involve DoWs. If I ever play in a Pitboss game, I suspect the mapbuilder will accidently give me an extra river corn and I'll end up on one side or another of a Sullla/Speaker PB2 style gangbang. It's how I roll.

wow, how the hell did that happen?

I had Ragnar at pleased and Genghis was growing into happiness with us, but now they are at war. Very very odd.

This is going to be mental. We need to figure out a way of getting through a small army by galleon to raze a city of each, then we will get peace. I don't think we'll be able to bribe them out of it.

I think we may need to turn on research to get some Frigates out perhaps to take out the Galleons at better odds.

This doesn't actually surprise me that much. Ghenghis had to declare on SOMEone, and we were weakest; and Ragnar is Ghenghis's best buddy in the world, so he was probably bribed into the war. I guess we can go for frigates, but we really do need to crank up the culture sometime soon.

What we really need to watch for, is Brennus doing some sort of oppurtunistic strike; if we prepare for it we can handle it fine, we just need to make sure we are not caught off guard.

Oh don't worry Tatan, culture is already as cranked as it is going to get. Each Legendary is optimized to produce not only the maximum amount of culture, but also the maximum number of GArtists I think. I am still hoping to pop one other non-GEngineer, non-GArtist to pop a GAge. I think a GAge would be worth burning one of our GArtists. But I don't really know the numbers on that. If the consensus is that a GAge isn't worth a GArtist, we can get rid of any specialists in non-Legendary cities and maximize us for military and wealth production.

Reinforcement needs to go in Legendaries and coastal cities. We can pretty much empty out our 3-4 interior cities.

If Brennus tries to attack by sea, we are on our way to be well setup to fight that off. If he attacks by land, our throwaway city is filled with cannon fodder.

Hello, quick post as power outages all evening. Someone please take the turn as my internet isn't up long enough to even download at the moment lol.

Should be sorted within a day or two.

I thought it was my turn now? I normally wouldn't take issue with you going ahead and going, but I'm already mid-way through the turns!

Just run them through Tatan, I doubt Nakor will mind as it is your turn!

Turn 259
Look around. It seems that spies have killed some of our improvements, we need to make sure we rebuild them.

Right now, we are fighting Galleon-to-Galleon wars, which will be quite a slog; so I bump us to Representation, and set research to Chemistry [8 turns, at 0% science! lol].

Turn 260
I found Ragnar's primary invasion force.

I throw all available Galleons at him, but only kill the three caravels. frown

I notice we have two Great Engineers sitting around; I use both of them to bulb Chemistry. Military Tradition selected next in order to get some Cavs for zone-defense.

Turn 261
I realize that Frigates require Iron, and am forced to make this humiliating deal with Cyrus.

WHOEVER NEXT PERSON IS, make SURE to cancel this deal, it's a killer on our economy.

We get a Great Artist in GV.

Turn 262
I manage to delay Ragnar a turn with various Galleon antics, but he still manages to land this:

frown The AI managed to land on the only road to reinforce Dover from the west, too.

Turn 263
Fortunately, the AI idiotically bombards down Dover's defenses! And I manage to slip in enough rifles that he doesn't have enough actual units to take the city now! jive

Turn 265
As the battle around Dover continues to rage [I've almost wiped him out], I happen to look up around the Scapegoat City.

Where in hell did they come from?! Fortunately, they picked the wrong place to attack; I suicide two cats and a treb, and then clean out the whole thing, with only one rifle lost at ~96% odds.

Ghenghis will now talk, so I get peace fro 610 gold, with the hope that now Ragnar will be more willing, too. Oh, and we completely run through our giant surplus. frown Sorry guys, but I really needed peace... and iron... and some upgraded rifles...

Turn 266
Ragnar drops more guys off by Dover:

Fortunately, I saw the galleons coming, and Dover is reinforced with two CG2 rifles. Defenses are running thin along the east coast, though.

Turn 267
Military Tradition is in, research set to Steel. The Dover Defense Core wipes out Aztec invaders.

Somewhere around here we get another Great Artist, too [in Bibracte, I think].

Turn 270 [hand-off]
Humongous surprise, we win the AP election. Also, Ghenghis declares war on Brennus! jive This is quite possibly the BEST thing that could have happened to us, the two biggest military threats in the game beating the crap out of each other. I mean, just look at the power charts:

Yeah, let's not tangle with Ghenghis.

Sorry, but I forgot to take pix of legendary progress. Suffice to say, it is quite a bit slower now that we are at 70% culture. And Nakor, make SURE to cancel stupid iron deal.

And it would probably be a good idea to attach a save.
