Imperium 33 - The Dark Side of Orion - Closing Day

Please post reports in the tournament reports and discussion subforum!

If you're new to RB and want to report on your game, you'll have to create a free account and reply to any old thread - such as this one, for instance, before you can create a thread of your own. Reports are due by the end of Tuesday [EDIT: THE 14TH], your local time. Hopefully I'll have my own done by then! (I was pressed for time and actually didn't finish my game until last night!)

Hi,

It's been a week and no reports for Imp33 are posted yet.

Matter of fact, I don't see any new posts anywhere either. Is it my browser giving me trouble or the site?

As far as I can tell, the only report for Imperium 33 (so far) is mine, and even that was just a three-line summary until I put the link up to the full report a few minutes ago.

I think three things contributed to the near-zero turnout here:

1) Confusion about when the Imperium would end. The official page said one thing (today) and the game announcement thread said another (last week). As such, if anyone has played but not reported, you can still post reports today or tomorrow! (Even so, of course, there may be people who were planning to finish by this week but stopped when they saw the Closing Day announcement, in which case ... sorry about that....)

Also, the official game page wound up with just the extra scenario text and the old Closing Date (today) while the "complete" information was posted in the announcement thread, and since even that contained an error or two (the galaxy size was Standard, not Large.) The rules can't really be inferred from the official game page either, which probably caused confusion. We'll do better next time!

2) It's a busy time of year. (It is for me, anyway.) Our next Imperium, opening Monday, will extend far enough beyond the Holiday Season to hopefully get around this problem.

3) I suspect a lot of people were playing (and getting disillusioned with) Civ5, trying out the new FfH Adventure, or visiting the new MoM forum (or getting interested in the new MP Civ4 games that have started up lately). We'll find out if all of this has ongoing effects or only short-term ones....

Other suggestions or opinions are welcome, as always!
