oh and how do you counter the humans and their make nice policies? well start a few wars lolololol.

How about a medium map anyrace, no BC trades, no non aggression, impossible difficulty, no diplo win. No sort of always war though, no point ... yet.

My thinking is that by removing the easy diplo from BC trades, things will be tougher than og8.

Any race in this setup should be hard enough that we need not handicap ourselves with weaker races like the cats.

I'm a big fan of klacks and but I insulted the meklars...

How about the meklars then so zed can show me how it's done. Fits their xenophobic sensibilities to a T as well.

Cheers!

That sounds interesting. What does "no non aggression" mean, though?

I'd like to join this one when it starts.

I'm not able to play right now because

1) My life is crazy right now and

2) My gf is coming up for spring break in a couple days. I haven't seen her since december, so MoO will be the furthest thing from my mind until she leaves.

I am finished beta testing the on line game (that ended while i was sans computer for a few days =/ ) so that won't be an issue on my time anymore

I HOPE that by mid march things will be back to normal. I'll keep everyone posted.

Alright. Maybe you can start the next game, then, if someone else doesn't first. I'm not going to start *all* the games around here. wink

this is one of my first posts here although i've been checking this site often since civ3 days. i recently saw that games other than civ featured on this site and managed to get my hands on a copy of moo.

i've quickly become hooked on it, and played ~10 games so far up to (but not including) impossible, which i'll wait to try until i've played a couple of games with each race - i've tried 5 different ones so far.

highlight so far: 5 opponents, large map, average difficulty (give me a break, i'm a newbie smile ), playing as psilons and getting into final war in 2449 due to my lacklustre diplo skills smoke ... silicoids (who everyone else voted for) had ~12 planets, i had ~10 and was in 2nd. i managed to turn the tide by building tons of missile bases in border worlds to make them as close to impenetrable as possible while keeping inner planets on a steady diet of science to stretch my lead there. i lost a couple of systems but these were calculated risks.

i especially loved the occasion on which the meklars sent their SoD to raze one of my peripheral planets from meklon (their only planet), which i happily razed to the ground as it had been left relatively lightly defended (lots of missile bases but few ships). that was a good trade-off 8)

i am looking forward to participating in the next game hosted here and learning plenty from the excellent players on this site.

Well, I too have found MOO and this site recently. I, like marco, have become hooked on MOO and am interested in becoming a better (read semi-decent) player. I was wondering if you guys would mind one inquisitive observer of your next game? I probably will not end up participating due to lack of skill and time, but maybe down the road I can get in on all the MOO goodness.

Well, actually since you appear to be looking for a challenge you could always let me play the opening rounds. Although, that might fall under the impossible to overcome limitations category. lol

I look forward to watching the next game.
