RB Metaverse Empire

I have launched the RB Metaverse Empire. I've set it to Invite, so you will need to jump through a hoop or two to get hooked up, but this is necessary to control our roster.

If you have the game, you can start playing Metaverse games within the game, then submit those to your record on the Metaverse. You have to Create a Character on the GC2 site first, though. ... It's not that complex, but you will need to have a Stardock account and input your serial number as part of the process. ... It's less scary than it sounds.

All submitted results will add to our Empire total.

We were the biggest bang-for-buck empire (most points per player) at one point in early 2003, and we cracked the top five, around the time I stopped playing GC1. If you're playing, you might as well submit your results and add to our collective glory. It may be the route by which future valued members will make their way in to our ranks, via contact with us in the Metaverse.

There seems to be something wrong atm (either with me or the empire setup). I don't see a join empire link when viewing the Realms Beyond empire. I see it on other empires but not on yours. Is there something else I should be doing?

(I do have a metaverse id and have submitted 3 games)

I don't know yet. I assumed it would most likely work like the GC1 Meta, but it may not. ... Bear with me while we work through these issues. smile

I'll look in to it and see what I see.

I found out that I have to issue an actual invitation. I looked for "zilchy" player name but don't see it. Which one is you? I need exact spelling.

To all others looking to join, post your Character Name in this thread and I'll send out the invite when I see your name.

This is Isit, I dont know if you remember me from the Galciv 1 empire but I would certainly like to join this one. I'm currently having some issues getting my old forum account working but my metaverse name is Isit. Feel free to send me an invite.

I followed your recommendation and bought this game. My Metaverse name is also Zeviz. However, I am still learning my way around the game, so I will probably not be submitting any games in immediate future.

I'd suggest that you go ahead and submit your games. It will serve as a record of your journey through the game. You can skip submitting any games where you don't feel it was a fair representation (for instance, if you "tried something" as an experiment at the expense of trying to win) and there is certainly no requirement to submit every game played. However, you cannot subtract from the empire score, only add to it, so there's no harm in submitting any results you might obtain.

In other words, if you think you might like to use the Metaverse as a record of your gaming history, in all its stages, there's no reason not to do that. If you prefer to "learn" the game first, you can do that, too, although one wonders if the goalposts on that might keep moving on you. ... At what point will you have learned enough?

I hope you enjoy the game. If you don't, I suppose it's on me. eek 8)
