Forum Bug - typing emoji tags

I anybody else annoyed by the forum bug where you type emoji tags, and they auto-correct ... adding an additional ":" at the front and eat the next two characters following the emoji? ... but only if there is a space before and after the emoji tag. I use Chrome browser. And this does not happen when typing in "view source" mode. So I almost always use view source mode.

Example: the simple smileysmile ... if I type a space and then ":" then ")" then space it auto corrects to :smileut [the " b" was eaten, and extra colon added]if I type without a space ahead like thissmile it is fine, also fine if I put a space before but omit the space after smilelike this. Happens with other smileys as well ...

The hammer :hammerorrects like this
Popcorn :popcornorrects like this
Shhh :shhhorrects like this
Lol :lolorrects like this

... and on and on. Consistent with every smiley I've tried. The space and next character after the smiley get eaten and an extra colon gets added ahead of the smiley tag.

Appears to happen to me as well, which is why if i want to add an emoji, i always use the drop down menu of them. ( firefox here )

I have the same issue and it is quite annoying (Firefox)

I don't see anything in the smiley configuration that would affect that.  Hammer is weirdly defined twice as :hammer and :hammer: , but I don't think that affects it since none of the others are like that. It must be specific to that front-end editor, though I don't know anything about that.
