[Spoilers - AT PB56] Whipping unhappy faces until El Grillo's morale improves

The title used to be an even worse joke, but AT deserves credit for subbing in smile

Reading the title made me want to come in just for a alright
Sorry to read it, hope there is at least a path for it to get better.

Thanks Miguelito, things aren't looking great at the moment, but I remain hopeful that they will improve. In the meantime, let's drown our sorrows in Civ and other forms of escapism.

I intend to play this game pretty casually and at lower priority than PB54, which in a full score/tracker context means I fully don't expect to do very well. Maybe this would be a good time to try one of the new-to-CtH leaders or reworked civs.

What reworked civ would you want to try and why?

Inca: I poked a bit of fun at them in PB54, but the current implementation seems decent. With superdeath as mapmaker, I also expect a fairly rich map, which could mean more dry grains for the freshwater bonus to matter.
Germany, Russia, or any other lategame bonus: I haven't played one before and it could be fun. Would be a good excuse to take CRE to make the opening simpler.

"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Well this is a treat and a half. I'm tempted to pick IND/PHI and settle on the stone and chop out the Pyramids, if for no other reason than when else could I possibly attempt that in a MP game?

You think you have a shot at the fastest Pyramids in RB history here? xD

Well, at least I get to pick both my leader and civ simultaneously.

EDIT: Crosspost with Kaiser: you know, I had a pretty hard time doing research on wonder completion times across games when I was doing my micro for PB54. Searching by keyword and then a lot of trial and error seemed to be the only way to do it. I wouldn't even begin to hazard a guess on what the RB Pyramids record is smile

On the other hand, moving away from 3 food resources, one of them being wet corn, and also away from a coast where we're clearly supposed to get an early luxury and ICTR... at least the Scout can take a peek before we have to commit to the Settler move. SIP and Workboat start suffers from not getting a 2h tile until after borders pop, and the fish taking 2t to hook up. Naively I'd expect a Worker opening that farms and camps, then chops out Workboats to be pretty good.

Settling on the stone would reduce the time needed for the quarry and give you 3 more forests (S, S-S, S-SE), right?

I will stick to your thread and ask stupid questions :D
