An extremely annoying, and seemingly increasingly prevalent, verbal tic: ending nearly every sentence with "right?"
"Civ is a 4x game, right? And one of those Xs stands for exploration, right? So exploring the map is an important part of the game, right?"
This habit manages to combine the unpleasant low self esteem of the rising intonation that makes every sentence sound like a question (Hi? I'm Becca? Welcome to our restaurant? I'll be your server?) with the smarmy manipulation of a bad used car salesman or ambulance chasing lawyer who is trying to force you to agree with him.

When did the first T in "important" become silent? I can't tell you how many times I've heard people who should know better (e.g. news anchors) refer to something being "impor'ent."

It's like a grognard without a hobby.

You can do better, like this:

I think the "right" verbal tic can often be someone without much confidence trying to convince themselves that what they're saying is correct, more than trying to convince you. Like a nervous tic, I guess. Probably doesn't make it any less annoying though, right?

I do the "right?" thing. It's a way to actually engage the listener's attention, by posing a question that gears up their brain for a response. For an online video or podcast, I completely understand doing that, since your listener is probably fragmenting their attention between that and a game and a tv show and another podcast all at the same time.

UGH I know, that's, like, sooooo annoying, right? But, uh, I, uhhhhh, sometimes do it too, you know what I mean? It's literally insane!
But srsly, I do sometimes deliberately end sentences with "right?". It can be a useful technique to signal to whoever I'm speaking with that it's okay to interrupt me with questions or to correct or clarify what I'm stating, which they may for various reasons be otherwise reluctant to do. I also usually preface the "right" way of speaking by saying something like "correct me if I'm wrong".
For my own petty complaint, I find it annoying when someone who is too dull to ever crack their own jokes feels the need to notify everyone that they do, in fact, have a sense of humor by saying some variation of "wow, really bringing the comedy today!" whenever they manage to recognize that a joke has been made.
Note: it is possible that these comments are, in fact, next-level snark, in which case wow, someone is really bringing their A-game!
