Mr Cairo, here is your starting location. Beware of the danger of gazing into the fog, anything outside your settler's BFC is likely to change before the map is finalized.

So I picked China because of Agriculture/Mining, and the CKN isn't bad either.

So I want a Creative leader, options are:

Catherine (CRE/IMP) My favourite leader, so if I can't decide on anyone else, I'll default to her.
Gilgamesh (CRE/PRO) PRO is ok, nothing too special imo
Hatshepsut (CRE/SPI) Very good combo for a Cultural victory, but I don't start with Myst, so I can't really go for a religion early on.
Kublai Khan (AGG/CRE) AGG is better than PRO, but not one of my favourites. Although it is getting some decent buffs lately.
Louis (IND/CRE) Cheap Forges are great, but I am terrible at going after Wonders, it's not really my style to take a gamble on things like that, especially those early game wonders like Pyramids.
Pericles (PHI/CRE) No.
San Martin (CRE/CHA) CHA monument bonuses are useless with Creative, so no.
Sury (EXP/CRE) Always a solid choice.
Willem (CRE/FIN) Probably my second default choice.
Zara Yaqob (CRE/ORG)

I'll probably go for Sury if he's available, followed by Catherine, then Willem.

OK then, game started. My naming these will be my top 100 songs from 2021 according to spotify.

FYI, I find these first few dozen turns very uninteresting, so I doubt I'll post anything here for a while. I have no doubt there are others in this game describing their every move and decision with exacting detail if that's your jam. I will reply to questions though, on the off chance one is asked.

So I guess you are going for a complete domination win in this game with 100 cities wink

I find that the most interesting part of the early turns is the scouting, so since you're open for questions, what's your scouting strategy?

Naturally.

I always scout in concentric rings around my capital. I'm far more interested in finding the optimal city spots than I am learning who/where my neighbors are right at the start.

Could we have an overview shot of your empire?

I played after MJMD last turn and I plan on attacking him this turn, so I'm not going to play my turn until he does.
