I am doing some practice games, getting back into things.

TAD, you mentioned in the tech thread wanting to play some matches to get back into Civ6. Proposal relating to that - do you wanna get on Discord sometime and play some practice archipelago teamer openings, maybe up until we hit Square Rigging or so? I think I'm going to look into how we might stream such practice sessions as well, so we can entertain the peanut gallery and possibly solicit their feedback....
I'm sure this goes without saying but I'm beyond thrilled to have you as a teammate, and have been a huge fan of yours since loooong before I even came on the scene here

i know, i know, thrawn threads are pretty richly packed with off the wall strategies, novel mechanical insights, and novella-length stretches of commentary, and that's pretty hard to turn down. but we're gonna be the ones viciously pecking him to death so

Interesting! I am not sure this is more important than getting a prime picking slot (which I'd say is probably 4th + 5th)... but it means we'll be last in turn order, I believe, and on the bad end of all DoF first strike situations this game. All the more reason not to sign them unless absolutely necessary, which I guess is a habit I should be building this game anyways  .
I wonder if one side effect of this AABBCCDD turn order might be fewer DoFs signed in general? A DoF where both opponents can first-strike you after it ends is much less appealing than one where both teams have some first strike chances, and I imagine us and the other late team (CMF + Incurian) will be pretty unwilling to sign on to that scenario...
