Spell Binding cooldown

The other spell that's way too complex in my opinion after Power Link.

Do we really need the two different cooldowns?

Wouldn't it be better if it was 1 year after every cast?
Do games even last long enough for the 3 year cooldown to regularly expire, especially more than once?

Obviously the current version is more balanced but maybe it's a bit too balanced, is what I'm thinking.

I think it is much better with 1 year cool down and I think limitation of spellbinding should be something more organic like cost of spellbinding increase each time wizard successfully casting it. So at some point attempt become not worth its cost. If you worry it would coming too early you should make it unavailable as lair reward.

I don’t see an issue with it being a 1 year wait each time, given how much goes in 12 turns late in game

Such a solution might not require a cooldown or limit of 5 at all. But what numbers would you use? Perhaps a correlation with the bound spell's research cost would make sense in theory ... It might be complicated.

Cooldowns could also depend on map size, similar to how it is for the cost of the Spell of Mastery.

Or how about increasing each cooldown time and not to have a limit of 5? E.g. 7 turns, 14, 21, 28, 35 and so on.
