Here's your starting screenshot, taken in Bare Map Mode. The barbarian sign is just a randomized identifier for which start is which, but the tile it's on is the one where your units will start. Note the fog may or may not be reliable, depending on whether I make any further changes for balance or aesthetics nearby.

And your first set of choices:

Capria (Spiritual, Financial) of the Bannor, with Cartography OR Fishing OR Hunting
...or...
Decius (Organized, Raiders) of the Malakim, with Mysticism
...or...
Cardith Lorda (Philosophical, Expansive, Adaptive) of the Kuriotates, with Animal Husbandry OR Calendar
...or ask to roll three different leaders and civs (up to twice).

Just making sure, with this map size (standard) the amount of mega cities Kurio's can build is 3?

Lock in Cardith.

Yes, that should be correct. (Not tested though; I'm going from memory.)

Can I ask (now that you've locked in) if you considered Calendar?

To be honest not much. But probably should’ve… I actually forgot Kuriotates start with Pacifism so revolt on T0 might be needed anyway. With Calendar I would’ve been able to revolt to Agri at the same time and waste no time later. I guess I just saw 2 AH resources and went for it. The other one is 3rd ring if I settle in place (which I might not do if I’ll revolt on T0). We shall see…

So yeah Calendar would’ve definitely been smarter…

I think it's a pretty close call, though I'd missed the Pacifism point.

While I'm waiting for the game to begin I found some time to build a simulation for this game and played around with it a bit.

I think SIP is still way to go (without any new scouting info). I'll go Calendar first and build a warrior with the terrible Pacifism (I lose 8 hammers in the process, so not that end of the world). I follow up by putting some hammers into Tailor to not waste more hammers. I better not lose my scouting warriors/scout though. After Calendar I go Mysticism. Then revolt to GK+Religion+Agra on T21. First settler is also finished on T21 (EXP is nice here).

Some other ideas:

- Won't play further just yet, then I think I will build a second worker and settle my 2nd city somehow safely without much of escort (warrior+scout if I'm lucky).
- I need to scout a lot to find decent spots for my mega cities.
- I will also build a quick Pagan Temple + EC quite likely for quick GPs. Either Academy or then bulb something if it's a GP.

Hmm... Maybe bulb my way to Corruption of Spirit and even plan a game with Infernals? That could be fun. I believe it takes at least 2 Great Prophets to buld CoS. If I were to change my civ to Infernals I believe my civilization then turns into an AI and I can play with Infernals at the same turn order as I was with Kuriotates. I remember in the past there were some issues with Infernals / Mercurians in multiplayer games. I hope it's still possible to play with them, right? Q, do you have a better knowledge of this? Or was the issue with adding another player to use your original civ if you were switching to Mercurians?
