I'm planning on opening a new SG shortly on CivFanatics. And yes, it will be RB25 even though there's been no RB24 as yet. Why? This game is all about the number 5!
RB25: The Golden Five
Germany (Frederick), Monarch
Rule 1) 5CC (Five City Challenge - no more!)
Rule 2) All victory conditions enabled and in play, but our goal is to trigger five golden ages before victory, one for each of our five cities.
Special Bonus Goal: "Chasing the Sixth"
If we managed to get 5 golden ages AND land Taj Mahal for a sixth golden age, we will achieve the "one golden age to rule them all" and can claim extra brownie points. I don't know if that will be possible or not, so we'll keep it in the back of our minds.
There will be... 5 players. T-Hawk is still owed a spot after passing on RB21 (if this sounds interesting), and Compromise asked to be a part of a future SG as well. If they want in on this game... umm, I guess that only leaves two spots. Sorry about that... I would prefer to see some of our newer faces who I don't know well yet, so they would have priority on signups, but anyone is welcome to throw their name in here. This is meant to be a relaxed game, so don't sweat the details - we'll sort it out and have some fun.

So does that take 2+3+4+5+6 = 20 great people? I've never done a golden age past 3 I think so I'm unsure of how that all works

Cool! I'd really like to participate in this. It's been a long time since my last SG, however, and a 5CC on Monarch scares me much, to be honest...
If you are really really really sure you don't mind having someone who screws up everything every 50 turns , I'm in.
Oh - don't read the above lines if you are planning to play Warlords.

So, when you say 5 golden ages, would it be okay to have 4 Great People triggered golden ages and then a Taj Mahal golden age?
Count me out of this one, I've had too much trouble in the past getting the game to use the brand of Great Person I wanted for the golden age. Is there even a way?

Count me in for this one.
Why Frederick, though? Philosophical is a must, of course, but I think Saladin would be better. Creative doesn't offer much; I'd say Spiritual is better for the civic flexibility, going in and out of Caste System and Pacifism as necessary. And Arabia lends itself to "Five Pillars" theming as well; that was done in an old Epic but can certainly be revisited.

Sirian says it can be controlled by gathering together all the GPs you want to use and commanding one of them to start the Golden Age; he'll take with him his buddies on the same square. I haven't tried that in practice.

With the Taj Mahal providing one of the GAs, it's 2+3+4+5 = 14.
Actually, since a Golden Age requires that all of its inciting Great People be different types, isn't it impossible to have a fifth GP-induced GA, since a sixth different type of GP doesn't exist?

Well at least you chose a Philosophical Civ ... I half expected a non-Phil civ just to be bloody-minded!
So if you're aiming for 5GP-induced Golden ages, that pretty-much rules out using them for anything else, since even if you get the 4 free ones that still leaves 16 needed. I guess the way to go about it would be to have a "pure" city producing only one type (probably Berlin producing Stonehenge/Oracle powered Priests), a "Wonder City" which throws them out randomly, and then a very food-rich city to run whichever specialists you wanted to produce?
Hmmm, intriguing. I would sign up, but I'm off on vacation in a week or so ... plus we played MP, so I'm not novel anymore.

I'll be interested to join the team if you'll have me. I was interested in doing a SG one day and this one sounds interesting. Epic 8 is my first Monarch game and I consider myself a Noble player. Just letting you know where I stand if I'm on the team.

Am I still on time? I'd like to join this one. Yes, the game will be hard, but so are many SG's . I remember people saying RB20 was impossible.
Edit: hmm, if Compromise confirms his participation, that would mean that I am too late . Sign me up as an alternate then.

On occasion with Civ 3, when we had "too many" interested players for an SG, we'd run a parallel game on a lower difficulty level with the same concept and rules. (Different map so players can read both games without spoiler issues. Perhaps a different civ as well for variety.)
In other words, if enough Noble-Prince level players are interested in the concept, you can run with it in your own game. Such an effort would just need a captain to set up the team and start the game.
