City/Frigate Oddity + GP farm

As usual I played an Adventure and didn't have the patience to report it. tongue

In Adventure 12 I came across an event of cities being placed with 2 tiles of each other. The weirdness didn't end there though...

As you can see, the Frigates take it in turns to bombard the defences of Lahore and L.A.

In a recent solo game I also produced a quite impressive (to me at least!) GP factory without going all-out to do so.

This is taken before Biology is availible but also while the Great Library specialists are still in effect.

I've seen this before as well...although it was probably deliberate it felt a bit like a late bugfix, the real solution should have been to prevent the second city from being founded IMO.

P.S. Be sure to report for Epic 8!

For whatever reason you are always allowed to found cities with 1 tile seperation if they are in seperate areas (land masses). This is probably because cities are needed to hook up resources - without the minimum distance exception it might be too hard to hook up island resources.

That is another pet peeve...if an island resource has a road on it and coastal access to my homeland, then darn it why is it not hooked up huh?

To be taken with humour:

Because you need a quay or harbour to be connected to the trade network! Are the poor chaps to throw the iron into the water and cross their fingers it floats to the next coast? tongue lol

Let's hope Sirian's not reading this. His evil self will create a city-limited variant where the most important resources are on single tile islands not in any other possible city's fat cross. The only way to get the resource is to settle on it and create an otherwise useless island city!

Why Compromise, it sounds like you're questioning Gyathaar's mapmaking skills lol
