Two comments on the presentation:
1) I really like the stylesheet you are using... 2) ... but it really makes the ascii smilies look archaic. VoiceOfUnreason Wrote:Two comments on the presentation: I was lazy ![]()

Hi,
very interesting idea! I use "build science" from time to time during the end-game when I go for space, but never really paid attention to it much, or tried to understand exactly how it works. Nice game and report, thanks! I think the map type helped you very much though, as the AIs did not have as many cottages as they normally would. Liberalism in 1589AD, on Emperor? Even with no tech trading, that was amazingly late. It was an impressive game nonetheless, and looked like to be a lot of fun. Make sure to mention it on the CFC's stories and tales section! ![]() -Kylearan

Well played ! Although I would say this variant only works with Warlords. In Vanilla Civ you get only 50% of your hammers transferred into beakers, which you mentioned yourself. This is a serious restriction. Nonetheless this game was nice !

Thanks Qwack, a nice read. The increase in beakers from research in warlords is not something I had considered relevant - but I'll be sure to consider it in future.
Imhotep Wrote:Although I would say this variant only works with Warlords. Well, in Vanilla the variant may not work at Emperor, but maybe at Monarch or Prince, and almost certainly Noble. Actually, at Warlord difficulty, no research would be about the same as the AI! Weren't we looking for an Adventure soon? ![]() Nice game, by the way.
Nice game!
I agree that Warlords Build Science/Wealth are unfairly maligned, due to the CIVanilla equivilants being so terrible. The part I find most impressive was the GNP graph, with your GNP fleeing from the others "You're going the wrong way mon!". Qwack Wrote:I never thought I would say this, but Mao Zedong is the most peaceful leader in this game. We have absolute manaics here.. Did Genghis get left behind or something? ![]() I think they ate him before you showed up ![]() You were really cramped there in the begining, but turned it to your advantage, well done. I had never thought about it, but building science might be useful for chasing liberalism, or great people in the tech tree, that is something to think it about for my future games. Thanks for reporting that, an interesting read and good report.
