I had something similar in one of my private games.
See here. I actually have not touched that game again so far. mh

Yeah, and see this thread for some other examples:
http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1463 In my case, at least it was the AIs that got the icebergs. ![]() I'd actually be interested in playing out such a start as an extreme adventure - anyone else intrigued by such a game? This would fit with Sooooo's suggestion that extreme adventures not just be high difficulty or strict variants, but throw in an oddball challenge. ![]() T-hawk Wrote:I'd actually be interested in playing out such a start as an extreme adventure - anyone else intrigued by such a game? I wouldn't know what to do with this start, but I'd be very interested in seeing some of our more experienced players play this out and report on it, even if it's just a brief "here was my approach and how I handled it."
Looks like a great start ... if OCC is checked. 6 forests for 3 health, stone to build pyramids, 3 health resources that are doubled by a harbour, plenty of food to run scientists ... nice!
But even without OCC it might be possible to win this. Use heretitary rule instead of globe theatre, though loss of oxford would hurt. Maybe you play OCC for the first half of the game, get early grenadiers and capture an enemy civ. I would play this ... if I had access to CIV this month which unfortunately I don't. What difficulty level? sooooo Wrote:What difficulty level? Not sure, the OP didn't mention it but he did post a 4000BC save, the thread is here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=226180 No spoilers outside the screenshot you just saw. sooooo Wrote:But even without OCC it might be possible to win this. Alt + build Axes/Swords til you got about 20 should do the trick. This thread also has some poor starts and poor surrounding terrain- gaze and be thankful ![]() http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthrea...light=damn

![]() I'm currently playing extreme adventure private game myself. The starting location was good. It was later, exploring, I realized my game was an extreme adventure. ![]() I'm having fun with the challenge. My focus is expansion and growth; and take out George Washington, who's sharing Antarctica with me. I would try the same stragedy with your game - expand, grow, and take out the nearest neighbor. [EDIT] Frack! I didn't see nearby England. Take out England than expand. I may try an Archer rush. Research Bronze Working for Slavery. Use the Explorer East of English capital to recon city until you attack. Another option is to research Bronze Working/Animal Husbandry to find nearby Copper/Horses. Settle city to connect resource, and rush with Axes/Keshiks. My $0.02. |
