Growing Pains

Our guild has taken on many (welcome! [Image: smile.gif]) new members of late, and the roster now totals 95 members, so we are getting close to the 100 member cap. Last night when I tried to invite someone I had to revoke all the guest privledges we had put out to do so. It seems that invites count against the cap, so it's 96 including our one long-standing invite. While we can manage now, it does mean that our guild size will be an issue in the near future.

There are a lot of long-standing inactives on our roster, including 9 or 10 that have been gone for more than a year. We've tried to retain them anyway because we want folks to feel welcome to return for a special event or new expansion, but when push comes to shove I think it's more important we let good players actualy playing the game into our fold.

But before getting into that debate, we do have a number of spots occupied by secondary accounts, of people both active and inactive. If we become full, then probably the best course of action is to start kicking the longest inactive secondary accounts. (Help me by pointing out who is who. [Image: tongue.gif] ) At some point (might be far away) we will have to consider removing primary accounts too however. Note that any such kicked inactives could just post on the forum for an invite, but people that are just trying out a special event or trial would be unlikely to do so. We could also have [oink] or whatever the new phantom guild is issue invites for kicked members to pick up later, but they might not know who that guild is or what is going on and ignore the invite.

KoP has made a unique opportunity for secondary accounts to join the alliance phantom guild. (currently [oink]) I know some of our active members with secondary accounts already expressed concerns about muling convenience with their accounts showing up in different halls. But unless there are some members willing to move their accounts over to create space in our guild, then something like the above procedure of removing inactives will eventually happen to make some space. I don't think we need a community consensus on a policy just yet, but can leave it to secondary account holders individually to decide whether convenience for them as active players is more important than keeping places for those few from our large inactive list that might return.

It doesn't have to be that much of an inconvenience. If you rarely have to mule, it's no big deal to jump halls once in awhile. The other way is to park your toons at oink's so you dont have to load 2 maps. The side effect would make oink's palace a common meeting place such as LA where allies talk on local smile

Those who want to move their secondary account, post me names to be invited.

I'd probably move my mules, but I'm not deleting a mule to make a new name...I doubt I can be invited under the name used to join RB for one of them because that character was deleted.

Amaya Shinju
Amaya Kutsu (Seijin Ronin)

Can be kicked and moved to the phantom guild.

Isabella Rosenvale and Enlil Essix are both accounts that were used by friends of mine from D2 that can be kicked from the guild if you need space. Isabella isn't even a full game account, just one that somebody was using for the preview weekend events. Enlil is unlikely to come back to GW, but if he does I can still get in touch with him over AIM so that shouldn't be an issue.

On a related note: I didn't think RB would ever hit the member limit cap. Where did all these new people come from?

Mainly from the old alliance and friends of RB members.

Revisiting this topic, I was wondering if anyone knew who these people were?
Cryptic Mage
Cheesus Christ
Night Shong
Meverah Shadowreign
Kaos Ashura
Ashen Vondara

These are all the year (or more) inactives that I've never met or don't know who they are. If no one else knows them, maybe we should have them be the first to go, after the temporary accounts (there are two in the guild that I know of), in the event that we need more room on the roster.

The first two I've seen online, though I don't recall much interaction with the guild from them.

Meverah Shadowreign is the warrior character of a player who's Necro partied with Ice Blade frequently from Nolani Academy to Lion's Arch waaay back in the day. He never bought Factions and was last seen heading back to WoW in disgust over being denied material storage upgrades (not available in LA at the time).

I'd be happy to move my second account over to [oink]. Account name is Havral Glommon Too.

Edit: Ah, this is what happens when you don't pay attention. So what about the creation of an overflow guild in the alliance for anyone who wants to move their secondary accounts into to free up space for the primary? I shouldn't think we'd need a hall for that.

Harval you're a season too late. [Image: smoke.gif]

OINK is dead and we are hovering at ~90 so not an immediate need for anything. Wyrm just adding his two cents in case we get near the cap again like we were.
