Hi there

One of the species in my cottage garden are lilies. They are hardy (drought-resistant even) and they smell wonderful. So here, courtesy of a friend with a digital camera, is a photograph of my favourite ones. They bloom the last of all the lilies and they smell the best. I love walking up the road towards my cottage and catching that scent as a I approach.



And, sucker that I am for wildflowers, here are some pictures of my very favourite one of all. They are in bloom right now and I spent the best part of an afternoon on the weekend riding my bicycle around to visit them.

I have been watching this wild vine grew all summer as it made its way from the ground up to envelope the tallest tree within a couple of months. I don't know the name of the vine but I just love watching it through different weather and lighting conditions. I have took hundreds of pictures of it but have yet to capture its essence. This pic below, with leaves blowing in the wind is close to what I am aiming for - perhaps in a lighter tone and sun light streaming inbetween. Something to look forward to next summer.

Oh, and the grapes I was telling you this morning... The backlight made each grape glow like jewels in all different hues. All of them are the same color in normal lighting condition.










I don't live in a fancy home, but having this within arm's reach where I sit to read and have my coffee almost make work worth it :P
