I was having fun reading Sirian's reports on MOO on his website. I've never been a big MOO player, but it was nice to see the old game in action again, and finding out how other people play the game and handle the opposition.
In Sirian's Imperium One report, on this page, he wonders about the game artist responsible for the designs of the various agents (soldier, scientist, spy) for all the races, and what that artist is doing now. I thought that was an interesting question, and decided to find out.
It turns out this artist's name is George Edward Purdy. MOO was the first game he worked on. He also worked on Master of Magic, and a few other games. Interestingly enough, Mr. Purdy's name is not in the credits for the original version of MOO. Compare the original version of MOO with v1.3 and look at the Artwork credits.
Mr. Purdy has a personal website, www.dragonsandmonkeys.com, where he features some of his art and talks about his work on MOO, MOM and other games. It's a nice read. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Keep up the good work on the MOO reports. I don't play the game, but I like reading them !
Cheers,
Gil.
