So my (limited) participation on the RB team over at the Apolyton DemoGame has piqued my interest in having some sort of SG with a similar style. One of the things I enjoy most about Civ4 is running the various scenarios and MMing and such; unfortunately in my single player games, I cannot seem to discipline myself to slow down to the level required to do things like that. Of course, with the DemoGame format, there exist a few other things that are less than ideal, like some teams not playing their turn, or not hitting end turn when they're done, etc. cough, cough, I think you know who you are
So I was wondering if there existed any interest in having a SG along these lines:
We play cooperatively with one active turnplayer. Pace is slow similar to the DemoGame. Difficulty would be ramped up - maybe the only chance we can have to beat Deity?
Just wondering if there is anyone else that would be interested in something like this

I'd be interested in that. Would we also include some other elements of demo games - or would that be tipping our hand too much?
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

I would think so. The big difference is that we would play as the only human team. I don't know what the best way to balance a) keeping the game moving with b) keeping it slow to allow lots of time for analysis

On a related note, anyone who is browsing this forum and would like to come lurk and comment for our Apolyton Demogame team, please don't hesitate to join us. We can always use more eyes looking over the game. And things are actually happening now! They are happening slowly, but they are happening.
Also, when you create your succession game, make sure not to give away our Demogame secrets. You never know where those Templar or Imperio spies may be lurking.

You then need to be registered as a member of Realms Beyond to view our private forum. I think Ruff can do that (?), if not one of the overall Apolyton staff members can probably do it.

I believe Swiss Pauli & Zeviz are both entitled to allow new members. Although I have not seen them around for a while now.
And as Sullla said "C&D" should be kept a secret!!! ;-)

Well this is a very slow thread. How about this ...
@regoarrarr - start the game at CFC and load up the start. Then we set a turn timer of 24hrs (not in the game, just hypothetically). Play 1 turn each day and report on it. Then wait for feedback. I would suggest that we start with each 'turn player' playing 7 turns (1 week of real time).
You might want to put in a list of rules - something like any suggestions posted are suggestions only and the player playing the round has the final say - typical SG stuff.
Other issues:
1) How many players do you want?
2) Do you want to play the first 20 (?) turns at 2 per day?

Well it's a slow game, so it stands to reason it should be a slow game.
So here's an issue - I don't have BtS. So do we play with Warlords, or do we not have me as a turn player.
I am open to any number of turn players. So maybe we just start going at CfC and if people want to jump in as we go then we let them?
