OSG 23 - Cuban Isolationists in Space!

A funny thing happened to Maniac and me on the way to planning future Imperia....

Details are in the game thread over at CivFanatics, along with the turn reports. Maniac and I are running this one as a relaxed-pace two-person SG, but if we inspire anyone else to play a succession game or two between Imperium reports (or to delurk and join the Imperia in the first place) that would certainly be a bonus too!

Great idea! It will be interesting to see how you define the variant rules and storyline to suit the title. Looking forward to the reporting. Good luck comrade!

The rules actually predated the Cuban idea. All will be explained in my first post over there...

Not as far as I know - I unfortunately didn't find my way to RB until after his time here - but I hope he does stumble upon it someday. I did take the liberty of mentioning San Charisso, Patron Saint of Number Crunching and Growth Curves, in my first turn report!

(It goes without saying that he's also the patron saint of tiny little ice-balls in the middle of the ocean and/or space! As it turns out, Maniac and I are continuing the grand tradition of Cuban ICE-olationism....)

Ice oppose some of a snow. (Did you try reading it out loud? Okay, okay, it's awful, but that's a good thing, right? Right?)

Frost of all, they say:

And THEN they say (if you catch my drift)...

All of which has inspired a veritable flurry of silliness like...
uh, me... Wrote:2310: We ... have ... snow! Tundra 35 Mobas at the green star in the north and Tundra 50(!) Zhardan at the red star in the northeast, all on top of the already-discovered tundra at Kronos! I am loving this! No, we can't land on any of those planets yet, but just look at those shiny, frosty plains: Cuban ICE-olationists ride again!
Yep, we're crazy - and, yep, we're having all kinds of fun with this!
