Suggestions for Monk's secondary profession?

Hey everyone,

I wanted to get some opinions on a secondary profession for my Monk, who is just a baby in Pre-Searing Ascalon. During the beta, I played him as a Monk/Necro, and had him focus primarily on healing (duh) and de-buffing the enemy using skills like Life Siphon and Faintheartedness (slows the enemies in an area). Now I'm wondering if the necro class would again be a good choice for this type of role, or if I could accomplish the same thing in a more effective way with a mesmer secondary. Or, take ranger as the secondary and have a pet that could be a tank if I had to solo. So many choices; I'm in a quandary!

Thoughts, anyone?

Thanks,
Hawkmoon

I was thinking of making a Mo/Mes -- I was thinking the inspiration spells might make a good way to keep the healing energies flowing, but if you like debuffs, I generally prefer mes to necro based on the very little I've played necro so far.

In the other hand, Mes/Nec might not be a bad combination for a summoner necro.

Mo/Me would be good for skills like Shatter Hex or the Inspiration Magic spells, which come in quite handy.

Since Monks are almost always the primary target, using Elementalist secondary might not be a bad idea. You'll be able to throw spells like Firestorm, Eruption, Earthquake, etc. at enemies that get too close.

Generally speaking, pets aren't very good tanks when you're soloing. They make great additional targets to take some pressure of the Warriors, but don't have the staying power to last very long, unless you invest in Beast Mastery and reserve some skill slots for animal skills.
