Implode's Multiplayer Edition

I didn't see any topic about this, so I made one.

This is a pretty neat program (located in the download section). But here's the link anyways

Mostly I like it because it's a great attempt at modernizing the game (up to 14 wizards, music sounds better, runs without Dosbox).
I realize that the progress is incomplete and that there are still features that need to be added (like game saves), but I like it so far as-is... for the most part.

However, I cannot figure out how to research a spell in this version (I'm using v0.9.3.1). I don't know if this is a feature that still needs to be implemented or not. From what I understand, Implode has halted his work on the game (so I really hope I'm just missing something).

So, does anyone know how to research a spell in this version? If I try to end a turn, is says to select a spell to research or set it to zero. I tried going to "Apprentice", but it only shows the spells qued to cast. Right now, I can only play a game if I set my research to zero; but really, it's just not Master of Magic without the spells.

Last time I checked it worked by turning players into AI. This meant only one player could participate in tactical combat, so it was most fair to disable it. Disable tactical combat. Which is at least 1/2 of MoM.

Runs without Dosbox - sounds very modern indeed. I understand it now runs on Linux natively ?

Alright, I figured it out.
Finally, this has been bugging me for months. It's funny how sometimes you just have to ask and then you notice something right after.

Anyways, "research" is the next page in your spellbook duh
I'll have to play a full game of it sometime soon. Too bad there's no saving, but it makes for a nice challenge.

Not sure about disabling the tactical combat though, I can't get into the "Game" menu (the tab just doesn't work). But I'll be playing this on my own anyway.

Also not sure about Linux compatibility, as I just use Win XP.

Thanks for posting b0rsuk smile

And if anyone has anything to say about Implode's game, feel free to do it here.

I don't think it runs on Linux since it requires DirectX (and the download is a .msi package).. apart from that it seems a good working attempt!

(much better than mine wink )
