PuG Stupidity: Leeeeeroooooyyyyy!

Yesterday I started a new character, Me/R Weira Lourdes (So called because I wanted her at the extreme right of the character selection screen, meh) and the time comes after completing every single possible quest available (Including the taster quests for other professions), I'm left with Across the Wall.

So I put out the usual PuG request and get landed with a dainty li'l E/Me. We head to the gate, pop over, and start mashing Oakhearts on our way to Ben Wolfson. We get there in one piece, I pick up Wolfson and start heading back down via the lake route (same way we came in).

One green dot on the compass isn't following me. With mounting dread, I turn around to see what my little pyromancer was doing. She was staring at the Charr warband with interest. I could tell what was going to happen.

One Fire Storm later, and she's got a whole bunch of Charr smashing her. I know from experience that neither I nor my pet can take on a warband of that size (Rurik 'forgot' to follow me on Charr at the Gate). Yet, gosh darn it, I'm such a nice guy that I try my best to make sure she gets out of there alive.

Splat, crunch, snap, I'm dead on the floor. I res at the shrine and try my best to make it back to the area in a desperate effort to make the best out of a horrid situation. The ele dies when I'm about half way there.

Her complaint? 'Stupid NPCs.' That's right. She blamed Wolfson for not killing the Charr pack, oblivious to the fact that he can't, and that's the whole reason as to why he's stuck there.

But I can't help but think, who was the dumbest: Her for tripping a warband, or me for not getting my hide out of there when I had the chance?

I took Kronin Thistleknott through that quest not long before going with your warriro on that little run to Maguuma Stade. Similar story. A warrior was standing around bleating for company in Ascalon, so I shrugged and tagged him. Waited for a bit and was about to whisper before he finally accepted and we were off.

I had remained silent on the trip and was almost on top of the lever with him vaguely aiming somewhere between that and the gate, then heading below when I get the opportunity for a little pre battle planning.

Him: "whos going thew"
Me: "You are."

So with the fairly obvious plan settled he zoned us through and promptly tried to buy blue dye off me for 40g. I laughed and mentioned how it can go for 200g in post-searing. That shut him up. It's a good thing he didn't know about my black dye or he might have offered 100g. 8)

So we reach the target, he spies the Charr and heads suspiciously in that direction. I draw a line on the compass and ping it once. He dives in anyway, while I wait patiently back out of range.

SPLAT!

Him: "Wait there!"

I waited. A little green dot on the radar becomes a huffing and puffing warrior. Evidently he learned his lesson the first time and didn't bother with a second attempt on the Charr - thankfully - and we headed back. Barely back through the gate he goes up to the lever and comes racing back down again. I just stood there and typed while the gate shut again.

Me: "You want to go back north again???"
Him: "f uck you"

Errrrrrmmm ok.

Bye. lol

Trivial information as its no longer true, but Wolfson used to be able to take on 3-4 Charr at once and come out alive. When Lurker Wyrm and I went through the area to purge it of the Charr, we brought him along for fodder, and yet, even when we both died he'd be standing there with dead Charr all about when we got back.

He seems to have gotten weaker, however. Few days ago when I last tried the quest he didn't last very long.
