Did anyone here watch Terra Nova? FOX has announced that it will not be picking up season 2 (as per usual for FOX).
That leaves us to think about what happened in the season 1 finale. The people in the past successfully repelled an invasion from the future ... and they also recovered something that the people in the future were trying to return to the future ... it looked like the figure head off an old ship.

What can this be? My thinking is that it is off a ship that was lost in the Bermuda Triangle with the show saying that (somehow) the events of the Bermuda Triangle are related to time travel.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Was sad when I heard about this earlier. I thought the show was actually getting better through the season. Wasn't the best but it was certainly interesting. Reminded me a bit of Stargate.
Yeah, Bermuda Triangle is a good guess. I don't really have any other ideas for it.

First time I'm hearing of Fox cancelling the show, but then again I watched it on Hulu.
Honestly I don't think it could have lasted more than 2-3 seasons, but I think if they had decent writers they could have made the 2nd season just as interesting.
Apparently they didn't believe in their writers ... (and maybe the ratings were too low?)

Terra Nova's first episode was awesome! It was truly great drama and sci fi. Unfortunately, the middle of the season devolved into poorly scripted, predictable episodes with flat characters. The last few episodes of the season started to show some more thoughtful writing and I was looking forward to seeing where it would go. I guess we'll never know now though...

Agreed. I would say Terra Nova's greatest strengths are how it began and how it ended.
The second season could have continued this interest, or it could have been simply terrible
But I would agree that I'd rather them gone ahead and did a second season, even if it ended up burning horribly. (could have become a cult classic perhaps)

Given the budget involved in Terra Nova, a cult classic would have been a terrible result for the network. They needed a smash hit.
Of course they are shopping it out to other networks, in the hope that someone will take it on, slash the budget and make a cult classic.

I thought everyone already knew FOX executes even mildly successful TV shows. If you think about something like The Next Generation which didn't hit its stride until Season 3....

I give the show a thumbs down personally. Here in New Zealand we're up to episode 4. The pilot was okay - it had a lot of promise. After that? A pigeon invasion, a quarantined science outpost, and a girl runaway, wrapped up in what looks like a family drama with bits of Avatar, Stargate, and Jurassic Park stuck together in haphazard fashion. I think the show's creators just couldn't fit the pieces together to form a quality result.

Stargate meets Jurassic Park in Avatar land! Winning description.

WarBlade, I know what you're saying. Episodes 2-7 or 8 were pretty lame. I actually gave up on the show at one point but since my wife kept watching it, I saw all the way to the end. I doesn't get great, but more interesting.
