Settler->Barracks First in all cities

decisions, decisions

First things last ... so its Theme naming first

Memetic Foreign Music (taking suggestions)

Code:
Dragostea Din Tei
Gangnam Style
Tunak Tunak Tun
Ievan Polkka
Aserejé (also known as Kecthup song)
Boten Anna
Trololololo
Caramelldansen

Civ Choice:

Thinking depending on the map (and the allocated Units that have been talked about) one of this list

Mali
Sumeria (one of the most underrated civs around on RB in my opinion)
Greece
Egypt
Maya
Zulu

Traits:

Depends ... traits which i would be most interested in would probably be Spi, Org, Exp, Cha (good in massive warring) with Industrious as a destant 5'th (closer to top if i'm the only one with it ...

If i get Sumeria i'd certainly consider Oracling MC, but with any of the others i'd go more traditionalistic

You have to include DOTA and Trololololo at least in that list.

remember ... the map is rather small, with each player only getting ~100 tiles each (including whatever might be watertiles) ... so i doubt i'll need that many city names again ...

First on the Snake ...

getting my choice of trait or my choice of civs ... decisions, decisions ... Given that i'm not looking for Fin and Creative (doubt that the game is going long enough that Fin is that important, and Creative ... meh ... feels theres more important stuff ...) i'd suscept that i would be able to get what i would want trait wise without to much hassle ... I guess Civ first and then ponder what traits it should get on the backflip

depends on map but several options

Hmm ... decisions ... Wet corn, PH underneath and 3 Grassland Riversides, or losing a turn going NE getting unpillageable 6f2c Fish, and more hammers ... or N getting fish and a ton of lakes (all 5+Fish), no extra Hill defense

Settling in place is probably stronger longterm if enemies can be kept away from the corn, grabbing the Fish with a city on the north side of the lake (theres a PH NW of the fish.) ... Early Monachy or another way to get happy and get the city to size 11 fast would be an important plan (8(!!) Riverside Grassland Cottages, 2 Grassland Mines, Camped Deer, and selling the Corn when grown to another city somewhere to the south-southeast

The Big question is how the rest of the map is going to be ... if it got rivers and grassland at a destribution like that all around it'll be a Financials wet dream.

Mali going Argiculture->Bronze Working->Pottery->Myst (trying to grab stonehenge)->Hunting->Archery ?

Tried to figure out the tech path a bit more since i would like to get out my first Settler before starting on Stonehenge ... While Not ideal, i believe its better
Argiculture->Hunting->Bronze Working->Mystitism->Archery/Pottery/Fishing (if fish is going to be used for second city) ...

Capital is most likely going to be Worker->Warriors(till size 4) Settler (a chopped forest and a 2pop whip)->Stonehenge

t22 i have 3 extra warriors, (for a total of 5), a settler ready to move towards settling point (whereever that might be), a Size 2 Capital (revolting to slavery in t19 after building the 3rd warrior and growing to size 4, getting ready to whip the settler in t21), farmed corn and camped deer, and 26 overflow hammers which can be put into Stonehenge

Out the door i'm using one of my CG1-3 Warriors to take a small trip around the lake to see if theres interesting settling options on the other side of it, at the fish, and the 2 first additional warriors is going to explore in circles around my known territory, while the 3'd one is going to camp out halfway towards the first city (while the CG1-3 warrior ideally would have gotten there allready)

Okay then ... all leaders have been choosen ... which one to run with myself

Initially i was thinking Napoleon (Cha/Org) but i'm starting to have doubts if not Hannibal would be better with the capital i'm going to get (tons of Cottages), while still having extra happiness/combat ability from Cha

hmm ... fearing i might start outsmarting myself

Sian, could I request that you replace that screenshot with the new one?

Edit: Thanks.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Picks are done

Boldy: Willem of Inca.

smoke of the snake ... Inca is a blank pick really, not much better than having picked barbarian ... Terraces bonus is nicely invalidated to uselessness by Creative, and to be honest Quechas aren't that dangerous against humans ... only thing they have going for them is cheap happy police, under HR ... still not enough, IMHO Egypt would have been a much stronger choice

Slow: Pericles of China.

Cultural victory? ... sure China is good and Pericles aren't that bad ... but still ... China have good techs sure, but unless he aims for GE bulbing Machinery (possible and hats off if he does that) Cho-no-ku's just aren't that dangerous offensive or defenseive ... and not against me either (since i can live on Skirmishers for quite a while) ... sure he'll be a pain in the ass with tons of Culture running out of both ears but other than that the picks doesn't seem all that scary ...

Commodore: DeGaulle of France.

hmm ... not sure where to start ... self imposed handicap by choosing Restricted? ... i mean sure, DeGualle aren't bad on a map like this, and french Musketeers are nasty when paired with knights in that age but otherwise i'm sure there would have been better picks ... then again its Commodore, so he's probably the most dangerous opponent even if he picked SidMeier of Barbarian
