Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons - Really Game of the Year?

Has anybody played this? TotalBiscuit is super enthusiastic about it, calling it his "Game of the Year" and basically the best game he has played in the last 25 years:

Since there seems to be a rather wide rating range on Metacritic, I would be interested in some first-hand impressions.

I finally managed to finish the game and while IMHO it's not the best game ever created I can confirm that it is indeed a great game. The only downside is the length of only ~3 hours, which is too short for me considering the game is 15$.

So I would suggest putting this at top of your shopping list for the Steam winter sale. If you own a gamepad this is certainly the most innovative game of 2013 I've played so far. At times it feels like playing through a fairy tale you were told as a child.

The game is on sale for 6.99 Euros on Steam at the moment which I think is much more reasonable.

Metacritic score is 91 (user 8.4).

I just finished it. Really beautiful game. It does seem to require a controller (I used one and I don't see how it could work right without it). I agree it's like playing through a fairy tale.

I did run into one really annoying bug, where it crashed right after autosaving, so I would have to replay the whole chapter to continue, and of course there was no guarantee that it would work then either. So I shelved it for a few weeks and only just got back to it. (Miraculously, it worked - I didn't have to replay anything.) There were also a few other cases where it behaved in a way that I would consider slightly buggy, but ultimately OK.

Overall I really recommend it.
