Civs don't matter, financial was a lock. Mehmed was taken, Hannibal was up there. But I went for Huyana since I have a lot of hills and forests in starting BFC for the first time ever. It's not like other people would all rush to grab industrious and make it suck. Fuck.

Play smart. No Impi rushing or shit like that. Take advantage of the early uniques but don't base the game around them.
Ottomans would have worked too, but their peak usefulness comes later. Games tend to be won and lost early, so I went with Zulu.

Not gonna miss any resources by moving in-land, so I did just that. This might be an island start, in which case settling on the coast could have been a good move. But I wanted a strong production capital. There's a potential second city spot on the plains hill, sharing a bunch of good tiles with the capital.

Really basic start for this game:
  • Mining -> BW
  • Worker -> Warrior -> Settler (whip) -> Worker (chop)
  • Improve: Corn, rice, mine grassland hill, chop. Works out better than chopping before the mine.

Found jungle pigs, but I don't intend to rush IW. Curious to find jungle so close. Perhaps I'm supposed to expand some other way.
