[SPOILERS] Joey gives Darius of Celtia a Chance

My leader is Darius of Celts. This is a boring leader and I wanted to change. After seeing start which we were allowed to see before I stick with Darius.

You all know what he does but this is for my benefit to help remember. Organized is good because it is immortal difficulty and we get half price courthouse, lighthouse and civics. And factory but that is not important for so long.

Financial is the same as before but does not work for riverside tiles. Both are just passive ways to make me rich. So, my plan is to expand more than everyone because I can afford it. Coast is extra nice because of financial bonus still working.

Celts are shit. Has anyone won as them before? No. Because they are shit. Hunting lets me build pasture now so I can live with it.

One update per week or when something interesting happen. Civ is old. Nobody needs to see what model of an axeman looks like. I update with bigger post when I have time, not lots of little post for post count popularity.

You are welcome to ded lurk me.

Gavagai as Fredrick of Korea
Dhalphir as Saladin of Mongolia
eastway as Darius of the Celts
Hashoosh of Montezuma of Greece
Baii as Isabella of Maya

Gavagai: Fredrick is Philosophical and Organized. His traits have not changed but he is a strong leader here. Korea is not good and does not have any food tech. He will just tech what he needs for food and then bronze working so this is fine. I think this is the player that will be main rival to win.

Dhalphir: Saladin is protective and spiritual. He gets quick granary now which is nice, but still not great trait I think. Spiritual is same. I think spiritual is a trait which is equal to how good you are. If you are the best, it can be used very well and you get lots of flexibility. If you are bad, you save some turns. Mongolia has ok tech now but is not great.

eastway: Darius is strong still. Financial means I get ‘free river’ on all my cottages if whether they have a river or not. Organized is good and with this difficulty is maybe best. I am lucky to have this combination. It is a bit boring but the excitement is enough with playing some multiplayer. AI get boring and are predictable after so many games. Celts I already said. If I build a wall, my archers get better. This means possible for pink dot. But pink dot is only for emergency so I don’t want to be in that situation.

Hashoosh: Montezuma is a fun AI. Hashoosh will hopefully be just as fun but I do not think so. Spiritual boring yada yada. Aggressive is better now. It gives city maintenance for cheaper which is good on immortal abnd barracks are also monuments now.

Baii: Isabella is good. Expansive is worse now so that is good. Maya are a bit plain I think without Pacal to make them strong.

I think I got best, Gavagai, Baii and Hashoosh same but Dhalphir last. I think they are all close so game should have good balance. This means I will win then. That is good.

Nothing exciting here. I founded my capital on a plains hill with dry wheat, grass sheep and plains cows. There is a nice second city site available but it means I need to get a religion there but that should be ok. Pictures when I remember.

Could you post a few screenshots of your civ?

Here we go, logged in to see this:

And here is our empire:

(city markers are still eastways, forgot to take them down first)

Holy shit this map is ridiculous, there are good tiles just everywhere. We are the Hindu founder and already have the religion in each of our cities, which is pretty nice. Our capital is about half-done with Stonehenge... would not have gone for this personally, as I think the thing to do is just puke out settlers and workers everywhere, but if its already half done... might as well go for it I suppose. Eastway was roading out to a site in the NE, which is an amazing 4-food city, but copper revealed itself to the southeast. Since Gavagai is just to the SW and currently already has 2 warriors trying to choke me, a couple axemen should be a priority, or at least the option to whip them in an emergency should be.

I also notice that Fin still gives +1c on rivers in this version of RB Mod... not sure what's up with that but that makes Darius even better here. Definitely want a satellite that can work some more cottages. All this together means that my settler moved to that plains hill 1NW of the copper, and will settle next turn. I'm moving a worker over there, but it will be a few turns... should be ok though. Gavagai doesn't have any military besides these warriors I think.

Tech wise... decided on Writing. If we're going to get Stonehenge, I'd like to chop out a library and get a GS before the prophet pops. As nice as a shrine would be, a financial academy is just WAY too good to pass up.

I got maps from BaII last turn; here's an overview of the world:

First up is Hashoosh, 15 pop, Monty of Greece. Lookin' not too shabby considering Monty of Greece has really nothing going for it early-game. I actually don't get contact with him until next turn.

Next we have BaII himself, Izzy of Maya:

16 pop with a size 7 city, very nice.

Dhalphir as Saladin of Mongolia:

Only 12 pop here and 3 cities, not a good showing. Wonder if something happened.

Gavagai is Freddy of Korea, who just got the Oracle (not sure for what, maybe MC?) who also only has 3 cities.

And here's me, Darius of Celtia:

That city isn't really named Bibracte, but Miles' Miles! Anyone know where my naming theme hails from?

I'm last in the turn order, so I can count myself at 17 pop and Stonehenge this turn. Stonehenge is actually great on quickspeed, I had forgotten borders pop at 5 culture here. I have a library coming up soon at Randolph's, whipped in 2 turns, so my first GP should be a Scientist unless I've calculated incorrectly due to quick speed. I'm first to five cities, but I think I've got to consolidate a bit with s'more granaries and workers before I expand again. I did sneak out a chariot though, with the intention to chase Gavagai's warriors all the way back home. From what I've seen, Gavagai is like me, very opportunistic, and I don't want his units anywhere near my borders. I won't start any shit though; as long as he retreats that warrior in the direction of his borders, I won't kill it. In fact, I'll very graciously escort it to keep it safe from barbs. :D

Finally, demos.
