Computer Technical Difficualties

Hi all,
I have a question concerning that of my computer. I have a high speed computer and that whenever i play guild wars, it shuts down by itself. is it becuase I have too many quest at the same time, fighting too many enemies or what?
I have another question:
When ever I use my speakers (I know this has nothng to do with Guild Wars) it has a very disturbed sound like that of a radio with bad signal. What should I do?

Firstly, Realms Beyond is a group of players who explore tactics and builds on the fringes of the game, often applying self-imposed handicaps to present increased challenge and and just generally prove whacky stuff can be done. We're not tech support, so don't expect much.

Secondly, when presenting a problem for technical assistance, "I have a high speed computer," is about as useful to the tech as tits on a bull. What's the CPU speed? How much RAM have you got? What video card do you use? Have you tried the official Guild Wars support channels and bug reporting avenues yet?

Try different speakers. Seriously. The thing I recommend trying is hook the PC up to a different system like a home stereo mini system if you've got one. You can connect them with a cable sporting a 3.5mm stereo plug on one end and 2-RCA audio connector pair on the other. They're only a few dollars and pretty much every electronics or A/V supplier carries them.

That's how I play. Fire up the PC, load Guild Wars and turn up the volume on the stereo in my room. The PC is hooked up to the Auxiliary Input and it only cost me about NZ$5 to hook the two up.

Otherwise try headphones or another little set of PC speakers.

Well, my computer has shut down on me before while playing GW, but its not a frequent thing.

I know in my case, if my processor overheats, my computer will auto shut down as a precaution. This happens mainly on hot days or if I don't replace the water in my water cooling system as often as I should. That might be your case if your CPU overheats and your motherboard has a fail safe to shutdown to save your CPU from frying.

Usually if its your video card, the card will crap out and your screen might go blank, but your computer will probably still be running.

As for your speakers, try using headphones or some other speakers. If the same thing happens when you use those, it might be the sound card. If it doesn't happen, then the speakers you were using were probably no good.

You should really try to post the specs of your computer though, you might get people who really know what the problem is.

I have a bicycle pedal for mine, but no matter how much I pedal, I don't seem to be getting anywhere.

Well this may come a little late, but

I'm always suspicious with winXP computers, because they tend to reboot or shut down whenever a "blue screen of death" would happen. It's nice to know whether the problem is blue-screen or not, and sometimes the blue screen gives a clue as to what is going on. So try this:

Start Menu->Settings->Control Panel->System

Click on the "advanced tab"

Under "startup and recovery" click settings

Under "system failure", theres a checkbox that says "Automatically restart", make sure this is *un*checked (i.e. blank)

Save your settings by hitting "OK", then restart your computer. Try playing guild wars again and see what happens

If it is blue-screen related, my first guess is a driver issue. If you have a non-intel motherboard like NVidia or VIA you will need their platform drivers, you may also need updated video and sound drivers as well.

Hope you solve your problem!

Thank you all for trying to help,
I fixed both problems, if you care to know,
the speakers; I had input on, so always mute mic input volume.
the shut down; thank you foxbat, it works. This is a new computer so I'm still getting used to it.
Thank you everybody.
