Pacal of Inca and Cathy of Greece ... someone won the set up phase!

No.

I feel like this really is going to be a curbstomp. Grimace and Caledorn are definitely competent players, and IMO Emperor isn't too hard. Plus, adding human/AI boosts almost always falls on the side of boosting the humans, because they can put them to better use. Personally, whilst I'd be willing to do this in a fast-paced blitz or something, I don't see the appeal of doing it in a traditional pitboss or similar format. Maybe if there was some kind of interesting variant....

Still, maybe I'm missing something, but regardless if they have fun doing it, then kudos to them.

They wanted BTS smile The AIs won't stick with our time honored community rules on bans, so why start in the setup phase?

Caledorn specifically asked that I not give them enemy combos like Monty/Genghis, etc., so...this seems playable. No complete murderers in the mix, but the AIs should be able to keep up well enough with these combos on Emperor difficulty, I think. Churchill/Louis seems kind of meh, but I'm hoping Louis builds Stonehenge to make things interesting. Churchill with totem powered archers will make for a spiky neighbor (if they're neighbors).

Pacal is supposed to provide tech for his team, Catherine is supposed to provide...war. She'll get pissy about a lot of refused demands I imagine, that'll probably hurt relations some.

And Hammurabi seemed good with Vikings. That has the potential to be violent. If not...Isabella will rage against anyone not sharing her religion, so that's a possibility too. Of course, she could just as well pick a fight with one of the other AIs, but so what? As long as she's fighting someone it's mission accomplished. I hope the setup is interesting to Caledorn and Grimace.

They're going to blitz it, Q. Probably in about 10-20 turn sets. Yeah, it isn't designed to be an impossible scenario, just something fun to do. If anyone wants to play a scenario like this along the lines of our old Epics I'm sure we could cook up something devious to play with. It isn't a lack of imagination holding down the difficulty, it was what they asked for. Nothing wrong with a quick and easy game, we don't have to play all cutthroat all the time.

An Epic or Adventure or whatever that pits pairs of players vs. AI might be fun, although I'm not sure I would participate.
