[PB 29 Spoilers] Why am I still playing here? Just to suffer?

Hello, welcome to the thread! Apparently things are going to get going soon, let's all look forward to the game!

Here is the starting BFC sandbox for you to look at and start planning, if you choose to do so. This accurately represents what the starting BFC will look like when you load into the game.
The file has any strategic resources stripped out (since you would not know those on turn 0). All non-BFC tiles are water, even ones you can see at the start.

Obviously, the leader/civ is randomly assigned wink

So! Here's my start:

Pretty good, eh? Fish and wet wheat for plenty of food, 6 hills for hammers, and two happy resources, one of them ancient age! I'll probably want a civ with agriculture at the minimum, maybe Sumeria? It'd be better if they still started with the wheel instead of mysticism, but if it gets back to me and no one's picked a mysticism civ then perhaps I could rush a religion? We'll see. . .

I picked Willem, figuring that the just buffed financial is now the strongest trait in the game, and because i've been wanting to play a creative leader for a while. It'll be fun!

Yay Willem of Greece ! It's not the same mod so reading my PBEM68 thread won't help much, I just wanted to drop by and say I'll be cheering for you smile

Thank you for the support, let's have an update! Here's our territory:

Lookin' pretty good, that silver to the north is a nice early expansion target until we get bronze working. Once we get agriculture and the wheel we'll be going mining > bronze working so that I can try and site my third city near the copper and get a phalanx or two out for barb patrol, and that's the extent of my plan!

Hello! An update, since I haven't posted any of those in a long time -

I feel like I'm lagging behind pretty badly, although all of our scores are pretty similar. Scipio ran a promoted warrior up against my border so I had to switch mid-settler to another warrior to be safe, and also wound up losing two worker turns as I moved the worker away and then back again.

Anyway though broadly speaking I guess things are alright! Copper is pretty close by so, once my worker is done mining that hill the warrior is on, I'm going to build a road out to the western city site, escorted by my extra warrior and my scout. It's okay to have copper be in the second ring here because I'm creative! Inherent cultural production! Yeah!

Can you explain the reasoning for the placement of that second city ?
