Good to go.
[LURKERS] To Lurk, Perchance to Scheme no More

The map (actually "maps", at this stage) still needs a bit of work, but the concept is for a "dual worlds" sort of gameplay. All of the players will start on a small-ish donut, and each will have immediate access to a portal which connects to a central location in a distant, star-shaped continent. Players will have a portion of the star "reserved" for themselves using some HN unit and chokepoint geography trickery. Goal is to create a map where the players have a fairly large number of tiles available to them (per player request), but conflict won't be stymied by extensive map dimensions.
The donut and star are being created as separate maps currently; Qg has access to some techno-wizardry to combine to two once both are in a working state. Also, there will be some islands.

Ugh, starting settler promo. I want to say no, especially as I gave everyone a second ph under the assumption that they wouldn't be able to settle it t1.
Thoughts?

Yeah, no starting promo. I intentionally didn't give it to the settlers I placed to mark player starts.
Some have a river start and some don't. It might lead to some biais toward moving (or slightly unfair situation) ?
Excellent point Jabah. Unsure how (or if) to fix.

I favor removing the adjacent rivers from the two starts that have them; the map will already have plenty of health bonuses.
Anyone remember any map editing tools that allow copy-paste? Mapview keeps crashing to desktop no matter what file I try to get it to use, and the only other civfanatics one I can find says something weird about java and fails to load.
I'm going to try a clean install of Mapview tonight, but I've no idea what I'll do if that doesn't work.
