You have 10 points
7: FIN, EXP
6: India
5: Inca, CRE
4: IMP, ORG, HRE
3: SPI, IND, Zulu, Sumeria
2: CHA, AGG, PHI, Ottomans/Maya/Byzantium (with War ellie ban)
1: Civs that start with Agriculture Tech unless otherwise stated, Greece/Rome
0: America, Native America, Civs without agri not already stated
-1: PRO arabia, germany, celts
Please post picks in threads, unless major objections I feel that duplicates should be allowed within reason, because quite a few civs have specific point costs to try to open up the field from the usual suspects.
Map taster info - fully hand crafted. SMALL 40x40 (based off small doughnut script if you wish to generate a map that size) VERY rich in resources. Stone/Marble are present but not easily reached early. Highly balanced but not mirrored/duplicated. FLAT map. IMMORTAL difficulty (it is very rich!) Moderate amount of water, but you could easily get away without a navy. GLH NOT banned. Scout starts for all.
As per your choices, no barbs, quick speed
Unusual tiles note - to spice up naval encounters, there are a few jungle/forest tiles hidden in the seas - these will give a defense bonus. Think of them as rich but dangerous to attack into lagoons, or places on the high sea that are rather dangerous.
You're player 2!
Here's your start - fogazing should be treated with caution, but the map is unlikely to change tbh.
Have fun and good luck!

I'm hoping you mop up here - Istill feel bad the way pbem61 turned out, you had a great idea in taking my iron island and played a good tech orientated opening. Indeed I think if you had continued rather than HAK came in I am not sure I would have won (he was too aggressive in defending - weight of units would have stopped me taking some cities but he was keen to attack out. Certainly if you had razed the iron island then definitely I would have been F'ed!
Looking forward to lurking these in general.

Thx man. PBEM61 is still one of my favorite games, even with how it ended for me. Hopefully this will be just as good! I only know one of my opponents, so I have no clue whether I'm an underdog or a favorite to win. I'll have to write some reports so you have something to lurk :P Been getting a bit lazy on that front lately.
I'll get back to you soon about my picks. Haven't decided anything yet. Tempted to play Inca though, I haven't played them since vanilla Civ4 days.

I really enjoyed it too, but who doesn't like stomping around a battlefield with supercharged impossible to match for an era units? The amount of units that you/HAK were able to pump out certainly felt like it was playing against deity AI with huge production bonuses...
It's a rich map which is always fun and it will be interesting for you guys to compare with your other placed doppelgänger.

Hmm forget Inca, I don't think it'll be that fun without expansive for cheap terraces.
Since it's a lush map, I'm thinking big cities. It's been a while since I've played BTS. After picking nerfed Financial in RtR and ToW, how can I not pick the uber strong un-nerfed version on a rich map? That's 7 points gone, we only have 3 for the rest of our pick. Okay, I freaking love playing as Egypt. Good starting techs and War Chariots for early safety, or even offense on a small map. That knocks out 1 point, leaving us with 2 for our final trait. Aggressive, Charismatic or Philosophical? Aggressive falls short, as it doesn't affect our main early unit the War Chariot, and it's not nearly as good as in the mods where Barracks gives you culture and Aggressive even reduces city maintenance. Charismatic is also pretty bad in vanilla, but the happiness might be nice on a rich map where our cities can grow strong and need a high pop cap. That said, a rich map could also be a map like PB29's, where everyone had every single happiness resource and charismatic ended up being completely useless. Philosophical should work nicely on a rich map where we can afford to work specialists, plus as Egypt we have the option of an early Great Prophet or two via the Obelisk. FIN/PHI of Egypt. *check if the leader exists* .. and it does.
We will pick Elizabeth of Egypt.

It might have been more evil to not do so, to make us have a 4-man Expansive Inca battle royale

T0 - Four financial leaders stranded on a desserted donut
I will grab Buddhism, pretend mines don't exist, grow to size 5 after the worker, work five awesome tiles, pump out settlers and workers.
