Finally beat impossible

over he last couple of months ive bee nlaying orion tryiong to improve my play.

started on simple and wokring my way up therough the difficulties. had lossing avergae. went beck ti easy and thne average again
won the 2nd avaerage and tried on hard. lost on hard tried a simple again just to find out how horrible borring that was.

this is aroudn the time i stumbled upond beyond realm and reading into all the tips and tricks here

next hard around i won woohoot
next game was impossible and it was also a win though it took a long game time ( hitting 99 tech level on planetology and all research developed) its now time for me to put MoO away and look for another game ( kinda burned on it now)

but i wanted to give my thanks to the patient people here who helped me figured out especial the research bonus and starting tech's value asd well as recommendation on weapons technology ( I had the tottaly wrong)

Had it not been for those ppl i would not have succeeded on impossible.

Thank you all on this forum

Well i must admit id did play Psilon so there is still plenty of more "difficulty out there i could go for by choosing a weaker race. But I'm kinda burned on MoO for the moment.
I always go for a huge/5 opponents map as i like the big games. that itself also lends a advantage to being psilon though

at first i though i had a very bad startup as my starting planets and the nearest neighbor was in a nebula. but it was truly a blessing in disguise as the neigboring planet was a pretty big Ultrarich planet ( i think 70 or so)

the 2 planets next i took brought me right smack on the border of Bulrati territory. at first i thoguht i would have a hard time having to deal with bulrathi so early in the game but it acutalll once again showed to be yet another blessing in disguise
bullrathi was stuck for 2 or 3 planets sqeussed in between me and the Mrrshan's and i coudl expand away from the. i had a big chunck of galaxy "behind" my all to myself.

I faced humans and sakraas as welll humand tried to invade me from each ende of the map. at thise time i had pretty much a borde going from top to bottom of the galance cutting of 25-33% of the galaxy just for me.
with Bulrathy and Mrrshan;s in the middle humand tried to invade my aras from the north and sakraas from the south.
i held my position as much as i could ther ewhile building up my backyard galaxies.

once my production was up and running ic coud lstart pushing sicence faster and i could move in on bulrathi and Mrrshans . they where the two smalles by far since they had been squeisne into the middle withevryoby else getting big chunks of the galaxy around them

i could start move into humans and sakrass territories and discovere klackon sittine in the middle of the left part of the map. At this time i had around 33% of the galaxy and the 3 other races shared the rest.
from her on it was just a slow moving of borders until i coudl dictate the outcome of the cuncil vote

Some notes:
Bulrathi and marshans was good soruce of technoology while iwas building me army. and holding my borders they provide a lot small techs here and there

i did not have gathling laser or hand larse in wpn group 1
i did not get NPG
i did not get AUTOgause cannon
my weapons tree was pretty crap

Saakrase was the absolut biggest threet throughout the game.
they had the biggest production
biggest population
biggest fleet
and best in tech
They where the sole owners of artifacts planets (until i took them from them)

I will say it has been really fun to learn all the tricks and game mechanics of the game. and buying the OSG was worth those 8 bucks

I also found out that going for IDT9 immediately on impossible as psilon delays getting you planet up to full factories with just one turn (with discovery at around 23%)
