Does anyone know how to figure out the world settings after starting a tilted_axis game? Thanks in advance!

I think the only way is by looking at the map itself. The f09 setting screen just says titled axis.

Yeah I think that the "Tilted Axis" type is the primary map type, so that's what is shown on the screen... I think you'll just have to explore around to see what's there!
