Map: Torusland maps seem to be pretty balanced even without doing much of editing. Almost only need to roll the start for us. Preferred to check the balance for happy/copper/horse, but other than that I'm fine with anything. Of course if we can find mapmaker something different would be fine too. Around 200 land tiles per player is around ideal.

Bans: Up to discussion. Suggestions: Lanun (if Torusland) and maybe Cultists? Maybe not if Lanun is banned though.

So we need at least one player. The turn pace with this group (+ superjm) is amazing, we just played a game from T0 to T130 in less than 3 months. I've never played as fast PBEM game. So who wants to play?

I may play with this group again, it was fun and fast, but I'll wait a bit to see if someone else wants to jump in. If no one joins in a while I'll take the spot again and if someone does, well, I may take a spot anyway, who knows.

Just not sure if I want to commit to another game right away lol

Banning Lanun is fine with me. Removing cultists might mess up the balance of the game. Maybe give ships the Immune to Magic promotion so cultists can't collateral them to death? And give ships a bonus vs. all water walkers instead of just cultists, so some sneaky guy can't just screen with drowns.

Yeah... banning Cultists makes OO a lot less appealing religion to go with. OTOH I'm a bt worried OO will turn to be the only choice with certain maps. Ships with magic immune is a good suggestion but then they get bonus against all magic. Maybe just give them bonus against Cold Damage? Screening with Drowns was a clever play, so not sure about bonus vs. all water walkers. Would that be too powerful?

I prefer Immortal difficulty: the barb cities are tougher when their units get the free promotion, and I like the slower tech pace and throttled expansion.

I also think the easiest way to deal with Hall of Mirrors is to ban it.

Agree with Hall of Mirrors.

Disagree wih difficulty. IMO faster tech is better considering how many turns the game usually lasts. Meaning we're more likely getting later game techs with Emperor than Immortal (the difference is not big but still). I get your point about barbs though.

Bump. Anyone interested?

I haven't touched EitB in over two years, but I suppose I'm over my crippling burnout and can take a slot if needed to get the game going. I doubt I'll ever get over my crippling incompetence, though.

That said, it looked like superjim was interested in rematching you all, and I would rather simply lurk, so take him instead if he's able to join.

Well, I for one would really love to see you play, Bob! Your reports are the ones I still go back and read just for the laughs (in a good way) they give me. I think it was one of SGs that you played with Perpentach (?) for domination with culture (or something like that) where in later game almost all your units died. The way you described the sounds and the comp moves taking 10 minutes... and then it was all RED.

It was just hilarious the way you presented it!

That said if you won't play could you roll a map for us? And maybe do small edits (optional)?
