See Death thread, I believe Possession currently might not be fairly balanced (though I can't say it's bad this way, but it's certainly on the powerful side.)

If possession is overpowered because it can kill 3-4 units, then changing the save to -2 won't change that (in fact to compare to annihilate, that would mean instead of being 1.8 times stronger, it's 'only' 1.5 times stronger). I'll wait until I get an explanation on confusion in the other thread before I comment further on possession.

A better option is to not allow the unit to act on first turn, the most powerful feature of the spell (AI will still melee the unit on first turn anyways)

By the way the possibility is to make it cost more mana.

That's fine, it can easily justify a +5 mana cost increase -> 35 mana.

Another option is to make it work like confusion for what concerns combat ending. Or the other way round, it's annoying to lose a fight where the last enemy unit is confused because you can't attack it.
