Hi,
you can find my report on my site, as usual.
Looking forward to read the other reports...

Although the AI is definitely weak on water maps, the Lighthouse plus Colossus really are that far out of balance. Skip those two wonders and it's much more of a contest. Organized civs also have it rosy. Stronger games on these map settings are possible, but require even higher difficulty.
I'm sorry that you're so sorely disappointed by the AI in every RB event so far. I'm not sure there is a cure for that -- in single player. I can't argue with your conclusions, either. AI is definitely the area with the most room for improvement, in this or almost any other game.
I'll throw out some Extreme Adventures here and there. You're becoming the next Urugharakh, by the way. ![wink wink](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/wink2.gif) Maybe it's just a Deutschland/genius thing.
Perhaps Epics Three and Four will be more to your liking. ... I can only hope.

Kylearan, I agree that the Great Lighthouse was a much more useful wonder than the Oracle for this map. I went for the Oracle just for the scenario points! Mathematics is not a tech I'd likely be taking otherwise.
Temujin pulled the same move in my game, equally futile. ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif) I didn't get attacked by Rome though; maybe you really were too light on defense in this game! As you know, the AI is much more likely to attack if you're low on the power graph.
You had three different Great Merchants... no doubt from building the Great Lighthouse so early. I wish I had been able to get that many! No, I only got the free one at Economics, and that was it. Maybe I should have microed my cities to run Merchants instead of scientists... It's unfortunate you came up just short of enough food at a couple cities for size 25. I definitely put a lot of thought into that beforehand.
I agree that the AI doesn't perform well on this kind of map script. If we all had NOT built the Colossus/Lighthouse and refrained from any whipping though, we probably wouldn't have done that hot either. ![wink wink](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/wink2.gif) My AIs did perform technologically better than yours did, not entirely sure why that was.
I felt terrible about playing up to 1945, and the first two reports I read, uberfish plays until sometime in the 1990s, and Kylearan finishes in 2036. Heh. It looks like I'm not the only one who decided to have some fun with lategame stuff.
By the way, I wanted to see what your score was, so I calculated it to be 295 before the fastest finish bonuses.

Hi,

Whoops, don't know why I forgot to calculate it myself. Did it now, and in fact I have 320 points before any fastest finish boni. But I'm quite sure I won't get any of those, as I completely ignored them. I really should have tried harder to compete in that regard, but I was uneasy about how that type of map would play out. Silly me, should have known beforehand that without cottages/colossus/great lighthouse, the AIs are not really a threat.

This Epic was the first one I found disappointing, but only in the vs. AI department - I liked the scoring system a lot, although I did not play very well in that regard.
I know I have a tendency to talk too much about the things I don't like about something, and less about the things I like. That's a weakness of mine in real life as well - if I spot a weakness of something, I feel compelled to point it out. That doesn't mean I do not like it, though. If my reports sound too negative, I'd like to apologize - that would do your fine scenarios injustice. I will try to talk more about the fun parts in my next reports!

Thanks, but I don't think so. ![lol lol](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif) I have a very good "feel" for how the AI behaves, and can (subconsciously) anticipate its moves. I have a good understanding of the game mechanics as well. What I lack is precision and patience; I think players like Uberfish and Zeviz are more like the Urugharakh of old.

Nice report and well played Kylearan. I see I'm not the only one who had AIs declare war on me with nothing. AIs declaring war without having any forces worth mentioning seems to be a pretty common occurrence since the 1.61 patch. They did it in a couple of succession games I was in recently too, and those games were played on Pangaea and Continents at Emperor, so it's not just the islands factor.
