Should be interesting.. i like this pick system. I think im going to go for Hannibal, and hope i can grab either Egypt/Rome/Byzantium. Plus there are some other decent civs out there as well for 1-0 points.

So Mali and India have been chosen.. Did i make a mistake in choosing a leader first? I want to say i didnt. Im wanting any of the following: Egypt, Rome, Byzantium, Zulu, or really any civ that has Agriculture. Chose Hannibal for the fact that Fin is OP in base BTS, and CHA will help with a non-crafted map. Could have went for Darius for the ORG, but i think growing tall is much better than growing wide on emp/normal map.

So i got my normal BTS staple combo.. That wasnt expected. PLUS no one has Maya, or China. /boggled. If i dont start next to rome, or mali.. i think i have a very high chance of winning.

Well, my chances of winning may not be the best lol. Capital has some of the weakest food it could possibly have. Plains wheat, plains cow, and plains hill sheep. Might have to farm the flood plains. It does make my tech choices that much easier. Not that it will throw anyone off of the "he obviously researched AH and is gonna rush" But i will be researching AH, followed by mining-BW, then likely Pottery. Ideally, i would have had wet corn, or grass wheat. Or some other high food crop. Sigh.

Wheat is always on plains unless the mapmaker varies things IIRC. You could have had grass pigs. Also, as bad as it is, I don't see tundra deer, crab, etc. So it could always be worse.

True, its been a little while since ive played base BTS.. and had a near/completely bare-bones map. But now that ive tested out in a sim, the capital isnt too bad.

What i have uncovered so far however:

Not looking the best, maybe down south will have some food? That damn plains hill sheep isnt enough food to share.

Found some AMAZING food! A sheep! A plains sheep, but hey.. who can be picky. The 2nd city is still very likely to go where the pigs + clams are, because with horses.. im feeling like a Chariot rush.

OH, btw.. did i mention that the map gave me horses in the capital? hammer whip

So plan of action is to settle that 2nd city, get its food up and running.. and whip some WC's and go find some good land. Maybe to the south? ( east looks a bit yucky )

Map is a bit of a cruel joke so far. [Image: DeuV61J.png]

Good thing im up for a challenge.. but where is all the food? I seem to be on the upper right'ish corner of the map at least if the terrain is any tell. Figuring there should be better land south i plan on settling the pigs city and whip upto 5 WC's and go hunting. I have 2 other cities besides my cap + pigs city that are even "ok" so far. Man, i almost miss these non-edited maps crazyeye

Double turn, double the amount of no resources found. Wheat farm finished, starting cows next turn. Debating going warrior-warrior, or warrior-worker-settler.. or warrior-worker-warrior-settler? So many options. Hell, could just go Warrior-WC-WC-WC and wreck someones game.. but im not feeling like a total asshole. Maybe if my local management screws me out of some overtime, i might take my frustration out on someone.. wink
