Freeze battle end with confusion spell

The game freezes when the battle ends with the enemies confused by the hero spell of the Confusion. I can reproduce this many times from save files. I attach the file.


Reproduction procedure. 
1)Attack enemies a few tiles to the right with Valana the Bard's army.
2)Confuse one of the enemies (the second one from the top) and end the battle.  
3)You will experience a freeze with the attached screen.

I found this save file from its creation date. But I don't know how to load this... save name is "new"

I was able to get the crash. It requires the confused unit to change control and its owner to flee the battle. The problem is probably caused by fleeing with zero units.

Could you please tell me how to run the game from back up save file? I have already overwritten the "new" save in game.

Then I can reconfirm the clear steps to freeze.

Don't worry about it, I was able to fix the bug.
Rename the backup save file to savex.gam where 1-8 are your save slots and 9 is the continue save. Note the save slots will not be renamed but will contain the new data.
