Introduction -
There are Metal loving variants, there are Wood loving variants, but who likes rocks? The Stone Masons! (Elitist Subclass)

Class: Any
Tag: (SMOB)

Rules
The Stone Mason isn't as Elite as a regular Elitist in that they tend to use non-unique items. However, this is done only when the item has a gem or other pretty rock within it.

What is defined as a "gem or other pretty rock"? Precious stones that, in Diablo, grant resistance to the user. The higher the cut, the more resistance granted. You can tell if an item has a gemstone within it by looking to see if it gives resistance. More on this later.

A Stone Mason will not use a low-quality gem over a high quality gem. For example, if he has an Inferno sword, he'll surely use it over Flamedart. This is applied per-resistance type. He might opt to use an Emerald Sword of Haste over the Inferno sword, for example, if the Emerald is perfect. Why? Because there's no comparing different gem types. Emerald and Ruby cannot be compared. If the SMOB needs resist all, he'll go for the Emerald. If he just needs fire, odds are he'll go for the Ruby. Another example is that a SMOB could not use a Ruby Sword of Haste over the Inferno sword.

Seeing how the SMOB is a SNOB subclass, it follows most of the same rules as the SNOB. The Birthday Present rule is altered a bit, however. For birthday presents, SMOBs may only recieve unique items that have resistance. Stone Mason may not, however, recieve a Birthday present that has resistance > character level + 5. A level 1 Stone Mason may recieve Shadowhawk or Cranium Basher. A level 10 Stone Mason may recieve a Mindcry, Wizardspike, Gnarled Root, Shadowhawk, Cranium Basher, Rainbow Cloak... (Heh, notice how this makes it so you are never able to get Schaefer, Inferno, Aguinara's or Constricting ring as a gift? Muhahahaha!)

A SMOB may never accept a gift (Bday present or otherwise- including trade) from another player that has resistance > character level + 5. They may, however, accept an item that has resistance > character level + 5 if they were playing on the level when it was dropped. Btw, SMOBs should always call dibs on Constricting Rings, Inferno swords, Aguinara's Hatchets, and Schaefer's Hammers.

Stone Masons prefer Full Mana and Full Healing potions over partial ones. They detest Full Rejuvenation Potions. Full Rejuv are the color of Amber, a horrible organic non-rock. Partial Rejuvs are the color of topaz and SMOBs enjoy them.

SMOBs may not use Diamond, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Schaefer's Hammer, Inferno sword, or Aguinara's Hatchet unless they've completed specific quests. More on that later.

Items
SMOBs may use non-unique equipment if it has a perfect gem (or rock) within it. If the item has a second enchantment, that too must be perfect.

Rocks & Gems
The Moon (It's made of rocks. Duh.)
Pearl, Crystal, Diamond
Garnet, Ruby
Lapis, Sapphire
Topaz, Jade, Obsidian, Emerald

Uniques
Unique equipment used must be from this list.

-Armors
Demonspike Coat (50% resistance, it MUST have some valuable gem within!)
Rainbow Cloak (10% resistance. Bet it has a shiny gem inside!)

-Axes
Aguinara's Hatchet (WOW!!! 75% Diamond! This gem must be a whopper!)
Stone Cleaver (This is the Stone Mason's Prized Gemcutter. Also Lapis.)

-Bows
None of the bows have precious gems. One bow is useful, however.
Windforce (Wind is used to blow away dust while gemcutting.)

-Maces
Cranium Basher (5% resist all. A pathetic gem, but still a gem.)
Dreamflange (This is made of 50% crystal!)
Gnarled Root (This disgusting wooden thing also contains Topaz)
Schaefer's Hammer (WOW!!! 75% Sapphire!)

-Helms
There are no unique helms that have precious stones within them. But there are helms that would serve as a worklight.
Royal Circlet (+10% light help's you see what you're doing.)

-Rings
Constricting Ring (HOT DAMN! This is **THE** best stone you've ever seen!)
Ring of Engagement (It has strange gems that cause damage rather than resistance. Very unique.)

-Shields
There are no unique shields that have precious stones within them. But, some of these shields would be good while you're stone cutting. They can help deflect stray rock bits.
Stormshield (Indestructibility is just like a rock! Also quickly blocks stray rockpieces.)
Holy Defender (High durability is rock-like. Another fast-block shield.)

-Swords
Inferno (WOW! 75% Ruby!)
Shadowhawk (5%. Another pathetic gem, but still a gem)
Wizardspike (A high quality example of Topaz)

-Staves
Mindcry (A high quality Topaz)

Quests
SMOBs hate Magma Demon class monsters and Gargoyle class monsters. They're demons that have possessed beautiful rocks, and they must be smote!

1) Firewound the Grim & Goldblight of the Flame
A SMOB must kill these two bosses before he may use the Inferno sword and Ruby items.

2) Nightwing the Cold
A SMOB must kill him before it may use Sapphire items and Schaefer's Hammer.

3) Viletouch
A SMOB must kill him before it may use Diamond items and Aguinara's Hatchet.

4) FWtG, NWtC, GBotF, VT*
If a SMOB has slain all four of these bosses, it may now use the Constricting ring and Emerald items.
*Clarification: These are the initials of Firewould, Nightwing, Goldblight, and Viletouch.
