Good news: This states that non-subs will get access to Elite mode, which is good for not splitting up the player base at the outset if some folks want to try it out. (This might be a typo?) Some additional features have been enabled for non-subs as well, including a couple of upcoming ones.
Bad news: Hardcore mode is still sub-only. It looks as though access to Hell difficulty will indeed be sub-only (at least as of right now, this may change.)
If non-subs do in fact get access to Elite mode, that would be a step in the right direction, IMHO, as far as not splitting up folks who want to subscribe versus those who don't and making it unlikely they will want to game together. Hopefully they will realize the same holds true for Hell difficulty...
