What to do about the RBCiv front page?

It is embarrassing that new visitors think the site is dead because

http://realmsbeyond.net/civ/

is never updated. When the opposite is true: the forums are teeming with activity.

Am I right in thinking that the only person with access to that front page is Griselda via ftp and that she is not contactable? Does anyone have any solutions to this problem? Does KingOfPain have ftp access?

I share this concern, and I think Waterbat or Musicman mentioned it too when tey first visited. I'd be happy to pitch in on editing time. A link to the PBEM/Pitboss game list would be a good start for a new 'news' entry.

KOP does, but I actually didn't think to ask Griselda. Will do. And yes, I'd welcome volunteers to assemble together updated material for it.

If it wasn't for recommendations and the one good Civilization community RB is,(Other games have a lot of good communities) I would have stopped looking after seeing the front page.

I'm happy I haven't!

I guess right now it "filters" out people who ain't committed.

It would be really good to get the main page up to date. The "design" too, it looks like the oooold days.


[I know totaly not the place... anyways: how do you say it? the single good | the sole good | the one good. Everything sounds ****ty to me, but English is my second language. I want to express that something or someone is the only good/bad thing in a bunch of the same, e.g. A basket of apples with only one good apple "the sole good apple" etc.]

You can say "The one good reason is..." or "The sole good reason is...". The Single good doesn't sound right to me either.

You should put some sort of Lovecraftian puzzle that will break the minds of weaker beings on the front page to deter those were truely aren't already crazy in some way.

I like that idea. Similar to weffriddles.com, a code that must be broken to even start.

Weff is amazing by the way. Give it a try. Especially to my opponents in PB5, because Weffriddles will suck days off your life.
